It was wonderful having our own space in a great location in Kyoto. The traditional house was wonderful for our time in Kyoto. We loved the private onsen.

beautiful house and setup we felt comfortable and at home. quiet place and easy to access buses trains or taxis. the onset setup was fantastic and we used it every day. beautiful home all round.

towels are very small for westerners - almost like a large flannel rather than a large fully towel. we could not turn the cooker on .

Generously sized, traditional Japanese design and features. Central location. Speaking bathtub. Air conditioning. Two bathrooms. Washer/dryer and good sized fridge. Very comfortable beds.

Nothing all perfect

Comfortable beds, lively large bath, heated floors, nice traditional feel.

Towels too small, no tea towels provided, small rubbish bin and water in taps wasn’t hot enough. Ran a bath that was barely worth it because of temperature

The machiya is beautiful, it is good for a family of 5 or more. It is well located.

The place itself wasn't cleaned properly. There were hairs in both bathrooms, there were some hairs on beds, there was a towel in the ofuro, we tried to cook dinner there but there weren't enough dishes, bowls, chopping board or even enough teaspoons. I think the place is good but for the price you pay, you expect more of it. I don't think it's worth the amount of money you pay.

Large and comfortable traditional house with lots of space for a family. Great to be able to cook at home and do laundry. Showers and bathrooms were very spacious. Accommodation was close to the station

Could have been cleaned better - but the hosts came to clean as soon as we mentioned the issue. No heating in the downstairs bedroom which was a bit cold during the winter

Traditional Japanese style ryokan, making for an unforgettable and memorable stay in Kyoto. Very spacious and clean facilities. Really good location right next to the bus line 50 that stops right in front.

AC upstairs was broken/did not turn on.

Good location. The house has 2 bathrooms. There is some dust in the living room.
