Pug Seal Oaxaca

Everything about Pug Seal exceeded our expectations. This was a surprise for my partner for a special occasion and he loved it.

Nothing at all.

This place has unique charm. The restored building from the 1800s shows a beautiful patina, a central atrium with a fountain and sculptures and colorful rooms that are incredibly spacious. it's right in the heart of Centro, but not on a loud main drag. They provide sodas and water and coffee for free and a cute honor bar, with beers, wine and kombucha for purchase. The staff is friendly and on the desk 24/7

The whole experience was lovely and seamless. No issues. It is a higher price for the city, but I think the output reflects the cost. If you are looking to really immerse yourself in a hotel moment, this is a great choice

Great all around!!

The building is absolutely beautiful — I loved the murals, the courtyard décor, and the interior design. The location was also excellent.

There was some noise that affected the stay — music from a nearby club at night and some renovation or maintenance sounds during breakfast.

Our room was spacious and tastefully furnished, although dark. This was not a surprise to us, as many of the hotels housed in historic buildings have courtyard facing rooms. The courtyard itself is adorned with colorful murals and is especially beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, and we appreciated the complimentary snack bar and all-day coffee and tea. The staff were accommodating and even helped us arrange a taxi to the airport.

Two nights in a row, a group of rowdy American tourists returned to the hotel late and decided to have a loud conversation in the courtyard right in front of our room. They were extremely noisy, and the night staff did nothing to address this. I eventually had to ask them myself to take their conversation elsewhere.

Great location in Centro able to walk everywhere, secure, safe with 24 hr security, comfortable beds, linens and great breakfast

The bar next door went late on weekends

The rooms are absolutely amazing! They have a unique design and vibe and we felt very comfortable during our stay. We also appreciated that breakfast was included (it was amazing) and that complementary teas, coffee, fruits, and snacks were available 24/7.

There was a day when the hotel was decorating, and things got a bit loud, but nothing else out of the ordinary.

It’s close to things and instagram worthy design, but feels hollow.

They forgot to bring the pillows we asked for when we checked in. When we asked again at bedtime, they said they couldn’t get them. It was our honeymoon and they didn’t do any special touches, and in fact the front desk lady was very clipped and said things like “you’ll never get in there” and “why would you want wine while in Oaxaca?!” When we asked for recommendations. She was also rude about helping us open the front door. Finally, the room was loud, with a night club banging above us all night long. The best part of the hotel was the bell hop who brought our bags to our room and helped with car parking- he was very kind.

This is a beautiful hotel. The interior is relaxing and comfortable. Great vibe, with lots of common area spaces to enjoy. Friendly and helpful staff.
