Matthew T. was very helpful and careful with my vehicle; would definitely request him for future times while at the Thompson (moons daughters).

This was such a great, relaxing experience as we are making our way back to the Valley from Dallas for the holidays. Traveling with both of our nearly 80lb golden retrievers can be a bit stressful on with both their kennels, essentials and our luggage. All the staff from the valet, bellman’s like Armando, restaurant staff were wonderful and did everything they could to help us. When checking in, valet and bellman’s took it upon themselves to actually put all our travel stuff (including kennels) in our room while checking in to let me focus on our babies. Even when checking out, Armando got all our stuff from the room, took it down and loaded it up to our truck. Overall great room service, food, drinks, and very relaxing & spacious rooms.

My wife and I stayed at The Thompson for a incredible concert at the Tobin Center just a few minutes walk away and the closest hotel to the Tobin Center. It is a first class hotel with all of the amenities and everything about the hotel was beautiful. The entire 24 hour period we were there, we never heard any noise coming from any of the hotel rooms; either walking down the hall or from our room. It is the quietest hotel we have ever stayed. Our extended check out time was fantastic after a late night at the Tobin Center.

We continue to come back to this spot in San Antonio. It feels more like an adult hotel, but we have brought our young children multiple times and are treated so well! They are always so kind to set up little gifts and even tents in our room to accommodate our children. When we went back without our children, Juan, our server even asked after them. He always goes above and beyond when we are there. The whole staff is excellent too!

We stayed 2 nights recently in a junior suite. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. We loved the modern decor and all of the staff we encountered across the property were very courteous and welcoming. The food was very good and our room service breakfasts arrived promptly and hot both mornings. A special shout out to Armando. He was our bellman upon arrival and departure. He gave us a thorough overview of our room, the hotel services and amenities, and made sure we did not leave any of our personal belongings behind!! Champagne on arrival was wonderful and the art collection is awesome. Highly recommend a stay. We will return.

Spent two nights here for business and pleasure. Hotel is very clean and the room was very nice. A few notes: Location: The hotel is on the riverwalk but it is a good 25 minute walk from the "main" section with restaurants, boat rides, etc. Also a good walk to the DT attractions such as the Alamo and other historic sites. They do have a house car that will take you up to 2 miles away so that is nice to get to these area the walk or uber back. Staff: all the staff was great. They were friendly and responsive. Food: We ordered room service for breakfast and it came quickly and was hot. The casual restaurant on the top floor had good food and service combined with great views. There is a signature restaurant but it was closed. Not sure if temporary or permanently. Housekeeping: This was the only hiccup. Igt was missed one day and we had to ask for it late in the day. The next day they did not pick up all of the towels and left dirty glasses. On the positive side, the desk staff quickly addressed these issues when asked. Overall, a great place to stay and I will stay here again. However, if your main goal is the riverwalk and historic attractions, you may want to find something closer.

We loved the courtesy car/shuttle and valet, but dining at Moon’s Daughter was a let down. If you’re using your AMEX fine hotel credit, maybe call ahead of time to get clarification on what’s actually included. Some of the facilities were kinda rundown.

The room was spotless, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The location is in a peaceful area, which was perfect for our stay. They also provide complimentary shuttle service.
