"Barn"

7.0

Location is beautiful and not that far from Ascot £17 in taxi but £30 back

Just got back from the barn. The pictures shown of Barn are not up to date, it has changed alot. The Barn it self is small in pictures does look bigger but big enough for 2 people for short stay. We found cuboards in kitchen bit dirty and spider webs round kitchen, cooker and fridge old, ice formed in freezer. The bathroom is tiny, toilet seat moves as not on properly and nothing in bottom of the small shower so very slippy when showering, easy to fall. Bed although looks lovely has no mattress topper on and when you put hand on mattress you can feel the metal springs so not very comfortable. It could do with all being up dated. Location is beautiful and every thing easy to get to if you have a car. The pubs are a very long walk away not short so will need to have a car.

"Charmong property in great location"

9.0

`A beautiful little property in a nice area at the rear of the owner's house. Beautiful, quaint with parking and a range of pubs / restauarants within a short driving distance. Very well equipped and comfortable. Ideal for a short stay and close to Ascot, Windsor and other towns.

Nothing - it was a small property but had everything you need and better than any hotel.

"Too small for us."

5.0

Picturesque location close to Bracknell and secure. Has its own parking space and entrance. Friendly owners. Big TV with Netflix. Dog friendly.

The barn is smaller than it looks in the images and is very close to the hosts own home. We found it too small for us to be comfortable. The bathroom is very tight and the floor is uneven. The toilet is on a raised wooden base and rocks forward, very disconcerting when using it. The very narrow hand basin is designed for a toilet, not a bathroom. Trying to use the basin to wash yourself without getting water all over the floor is nearly impossible. The shower is small in size and I had trouble using it being 6 foot tall. The only heating in the barn was an electric oil filled radiator. Even on high we found the barn cold in April and the barn door, was wooden like a shed. It appeared old and was misaligned and warped and you could see daylight at the top when it was shut. The bed has a metal frame and is a double (135cm x 190cm). I personally found it too hard and the metal rails at the head end were not comfortable to lean against (lots of extra cushions but the metal was rather unforgiving). We didn't really use the kitchen other than making tea but it looked a little tired. I know it's a converted barn but it was dusty, and the shelves in the bathroom above the toilet had a thick layer of dust over them.

"Fabulous cosy hideaway"

10.0

Beautifully situated in the countryside this cosy barn offered us all we could wish for. Beautiful walks and even a Tesco nearby. Good for Bracknell shopping and visiting Windsor. Really good pubs within walking distance.

There was nothing not to like

"A wonderful stay in a gorgeous location. The hosts could not have been more welcoming."

10.0

Easy access with good security. The Barn is equipped with everything you could need for a stay, with a few added touches which elevate it to a more luxurious stay. The surrounding area is peaceful & although a few minutes from town has a countryside feel.

"Lots of potential but needs a bit of TLC"

6.0

Nice attention to detail with fluffy towels, waffle bathrobes, extra blankets, kitchen and bathroom essentials. The barn is very pretty and ideally located for our needs - a trip to Wentworth to watch golf.

The bathroom is very old and had not been cleaned properly in a long time. The shower trap was so clogged up that the water didn’t drain, and brought up dirt from inside the trap when showering. The toilet is loose on its base. The bed, whilst very comfortable when we laid still, wobbled violently when we moved, disturbing our sleep. The fan in the oven is not working - if I had known I wouldn’t have used the circotherm function and burnt our pies. And although it’s totally not the owners’ fault, there was a rave in a nearby property from 10pm to about 4am on our last night!

"Felt like we were intruders in someone's home - due to the close proximity to the owners house"

4.0

We left within 20mins of arriving - I can't add fair comment.

The proximity to the owners property - the front door was maybe a meter from their open garden, where they were (as their right) having a chill time on the own patio - however, it felt like we were intruding on their home, felt very uncomfortable

"Quiet location, comfortable studio compact space ideal for a one or two night stay."

6.0

Location was quiet and rural but very handy for Bracknell and various pub restaurants.

Parking was very limited for space. As the owners parked their two cars outside their own house it necessitates visitors backing out onto the road to exit the property. On returning one evening a car was parked in the visitor space as the owners didn’t appear to know we’d already checked in earlier.
