If you have the unlucky room there will be a sound of running something every 3 hours that will not let you sleep. The shower have no pressure and controls are strange.

Apart from a very pleasant receptionist who deserves a competent employer, there is nothing to like about the West Park Hotel. It is owned and mismanaged in such a way that it cannot justify the claim to be a hotel in the commonly understood sense of the word.

The owner/manager (he refused to identify himself) is an arrogant and ignorant man. He posesses none of the skills or attributes expected of someone working in the tourism and hospitality sector. He contributes nothing but damage and disappointment to his staff and to his customers. A quick search on platforms like Tripadvisor will provide any potential visitor with all the information they need to steer well clear of this place.

This place should be given a very wide berth. It is owned/managed by an extremely ill-mannered and unprofessional man who should not be permitted to run a business that causes so much damage to the good name of Scottish hospitality. We booked for two nights while attending a family funeral. On arrival we were informed that there was no facility for card payments but that all transactions must be in cash. We did not have any cash. They do not have an ATM. Nor is there within reasonable distance. We requested meals and refreshments to be charged to our room account which was already pre-booked on a card charge. We were informed this was not their company policy, then that the bar and restaurant were operated as separate companies to the hotel. No alternatives were offered. As we could not eat or drink we arranged to move to another hotel. This brought about a tirade of abusive and threatening behaviour from a man who refused to identify himself but we believe could be the owner or manager. While we waited for a taxi he became irrationally angry and ordered us to leave the property. He told us he would summon police assistance to have us removed. This wholly inappropriate conduct is mirrored and corroborated in many reviews posted online by other equally traumatised victims of this man. Sadly, we only read these after the event. Scottish hospitality and tourism does not need this kind of bullying, boorish behaviour. The comparison with the alternative hotel could not be more stark. Haste Ye Back, but never to the West Park Hotel.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Spent a fortune on Uber. Although it has restaurant -it was seldom open. They hosted funeral meals every other day. We had to walk 1 mile to next restaurant. No vending machines AND could not eat in. Beds VERY uncomfortable. Staff RUDE. I NEVER WRITE BAD REVIEWS but this is a warning to travelers
