The hotel have attempted to update some aspects of the room

Rock hard pillows. Had to share a double bed with my daughter even though we had booked a twin room. Double bed was very small and uncomfortable. The furniture and fixtures in the room were tired and dated

Nice cozy room with plenty coffee and tea options, pretty quiet even though The main road ran several yards from the window.

Unable to get a coffee before we left, girl said machine was broken but had we ordered breakfast then tea and coffee would have been served.

Stayed here for 1 night April 2025 and I wouldn't go back! Have you ever heard of a hotel which has all the heating on a timer and the guests have no control over the temperature in their rooms? I haven't! We asked at reception how to turn the radiator off, and he informed us it was on a timer but was due to go off soon so he would turn it off at the boiler. We went out for dinner, and when we came back, he HADNT turned it off. The room was BOILING and the window only opened about an inch! We phoned down to reception and asked again, to be told that yes the heating was on a timer, he would turn it off just now. Guess what ... that was the second lie, and the heating was on all night! We had to open the bathroom window wide and sleep with the bathroom door open to let cold air in! AND we were right next to a main road, so the noise of the traffic kept us awake as well as the heat! Then in the morning I used the shower. Everything was fine until I washed the shampoo off my hair. Then that was the end of the hot water! I had to have the rest of my shower with cold water! One positive was that at least it helped waken me up after a night of no sleep ....

It was clean, bed was comfy and good price

Room was roasting and there was no way of turning heating off. We asked several times for heating to be turned off and they said each time it was but radiators were on 24/7 and there was no way of turning them down or off on your own
