Hotel Sky Cape Town

We arrived before the official check-in time and were warmly welcomed by the reception staff, though we were informed that we would need to wait until 12:00 PM to be assigned a room. The first room we received was quite cold and dim, even with the lights on. After requesting a change at the reception, we were promptly assisted by the exceptionally kind and welcoming Zara, who made us feel truly at ease. The new room she allocated to us had a lovely view and was well-lit, enhancing our experience. However, there were no phones in the room, and we initially struggled to download the app. Zara patiently guided us through the process, and despite our exhaustion from traveling overnight, her warm demeanor and sense of humor lifted our spirits. One suggestion for improvement would be the mattresses, as the one we had was too soft and could benefit from a replacement. Overall, Zara’s hospitality made our stay much more enjoyable. It was disappointing to discover that there was an unexpected charge for access to the rooftop view, especially since we had not been informed about this beforehand. We were surprised when we attempted to visit and were denied entry due to the payment requirement. Clear communication about additional costs would have helped avoid this frustration, as we felt that such a feature should ideally be included in the overall stay. This was an unfortunate surprise during an otherwise pleasant experience.

Facilities were great, and the staff really helpful and friendly, also great location with it being close to the waterfront and other areas

The rooms are small and arranged next to each other like classrooms. It’s not a very nice place because you can hear noise from the neighbors, especially in the morning. The Indian receptionist was not profferesional he didn’t treat us well we asked for the large room cos the one we were given was small he didn’t give us a good reason and he asked for money to upgrade he didn’t talk to us nicely he rushed things and we finally slept in a different singles rooms because the one we were given was very small Ido not recommend this hotel to anyone in the internet its look great but in reality its a trash 🫩🫩 So disappointed ☹️

I spent a couple of good days there to attend an exhibition. Overall, my stay was quite nice but my only comment is that the breakfast didn't have sufficient halal options.

Central, convenient, clean, great service, ample parking, beautiful view. Value for money. If you consider this then the Sky where you want to stay.

Was overall every easy and efficient stay and good service and amazing location. Rooms were clean and the view also lovely.

A quirky hotel with excellent service. Rooms a little small with limited storage and no bathroom privacy

Night out in Town. Book in at 16:00, then had drinks at lounge , waiter was under average did not listen what ask for . Then he wanted to poor i sed no thanks then he messed over my hand and table. He turn around and left. He never returned to wipe up and the table was left wet for the hour we were there. The buffet breakfast was next level. Ive rebooked now again just because of that buffet. Loved it!

I was invited to Cape Town for the WTM and the Sky Hotel was provided as my lodging. They messed up my reservation and it was a hassle checking in, so I decided to leave the next morning after I saw the room. I measured my room and I think I recall the room width was 210 cm wide. That's 6 feet and 8 inches wide. So tight that the bed is pushed up against the wall, so the second person has to climb in from the end or over their sleeping partner. The room was painted black and had a very unpleasant feeling. The bathroom was spotless but the room felt not only very cramped but very tired... well worn. I booked a bnb nearby for less than half the price of the hotel and had a lovely small apartment with all the facilities I could ask for. Slowest elevator in the World Award No water available for sale at night, they told me to get water from the coffee machine in the hall outside my room, and that I could drink the tap water. Who drinks tap water in Africa? I have given this three stars only because the staff (apart from the guy who checked me in on my first night) were very kind and the hotel is in an excellent spot for the International Convention Centre. It might be ok for you if you are alone, but for a couple it was way way too small. Perhaps they have bigger rooms, I did not see. I would never stay there again.
