hotel MONday Kyoto Marutamachi

Hotel property was well located and not too far from city. Well connected to train station and bus stops. The staff at the hotel were well mannered, courteous and helpful. Would have been better if they can invest in a bigger washing machine and washer in the laundry service. Overall, we had a good hotel experience.

Staff was polite and helpful. There were plenty of amenities like toiletries and a coin laundry.

Very travel convenient

The only reason I gave it an average is because the pillows were tiny. The beds were very firm and there’s a lot of little charges there. I also think I was disappointed because I thought the shuttle buses ran on Saturday and Sunday for the main attractions, which is why I booked it, but unfortunately they don’t run on weekends. If you just want a nice inexpensive hotel, though still totally worth it! Staff were so nice!!

Very clean and had a good view. Easy walking distance from the train station. Very kind staff! Room was amazing!

As compared to Tokyo’s intensive metro train system, most of the city ’s highlights are very accessible by the subway system alone. Kyoto’s main attractions are spread out and its metro is not as intensive as Tokyo. To reach the highlights, one has to use a combination of metro, bus, JR local trainsd ...lots of walking. Thus, it is vital your hotel is within walking distance to the subway line. The location of Hotel MONday Kyoto Marutamachi is basically a stone throw away when one took exit 5 , elevator accessible, of the Marutamachi Station of the Karasuma line. Off the platform exit, it is right in front and a the pedestrian cross away. Aside from its great location, friendly and attentive English speaking staff specially Astri, it has a clean, firm beds, soft pillows and modern rooms. Also it offers a free shuttle service ( drop off and pickup) to the Golden Pavilion , Miyami and Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. This free shuttle ride by itself shave off a day or two from your vacation schedule and gives one an added time to explore more of Kyoto.

Perfect place to stay, would stay here again

Pretty spacious rooms for a budget hotel. The hotel is close to subways and some dining. Bathrooms were pretty small and you had to pick up amenities in the front lobby. The staff were very helpful
