Very pleasant staff, there was an excellent breakfast available. Rooms pleasantly furnished- a hotel that is only 100 years old but carries real 'olde worlde' charm

Good do with a bit of redecorating here and there,but overall it was lovely

I liked where it was situation, Very pleasant and convenient surroundings, Just such a friendly place. Would stay there again if in the area.

Mouldy bathroom and strong smell in the room.

Lovely, peaceful location and character building. Dog friendly. Wonderful staff and evening meal was delicious, very generous portions. Room was comfortable but needs some updating, some grubby marks but you could see they were working on refreshing the place. Overall, service was excellent and could not be faulted.

Friendly staff lovely relaxed breakfast friendly other guests and exceptionally dog friendly water bowls plenty of walking for those early and late dog moments right outside the door! Can’t wait to see the new carpet next time we come!

Positives: - we were able to bring our dog. Great area, very scenic for dog walking. Easy to get in and out of property. Seemingly very popular as many cars in the car park. Room cleaned, I.e, vacuuming, towel change and topping up tea making. Negatives:- Such a lovely building in a state of disrepair. Outside wooden window frames , paint badly flaking and rot starting. In the room, again the wooden window frames, paint flaking badly and covered in mould. The bathroom had mould growing on the ceiling and on the tile grout. The tiles were in need of replacement. The lower mirror had blotches on the glass. The toilet seat had hairs on it, looked like pubic hairs, otherwise the toilet and basin were clean. On entering the bathroom, it smelt unsavoury, on further investigation, I realised the smell was coming up through the drains. I noticed this smell by the reception area too. The smell was not constant. With regard to the mould in the bathroom, this could be remedied by the extractor fan being allowed to run much longer or preferably a new stronger fan. The television did not work either, had sound, but the picture was very pale and could not be seen. Tried to use adjustment but they made no difference. Problems reported to lady bar staff, lovely lady who wanted to be helpful but unable to help by allocating another room but hotel was full.

Don't do breakfast, location was superb . Very friendly staff, excellent food and service.
