The White Pheasant

No staff was there to greet so we had to fill in paper with our details open for others to view. We were locked out in the evening as unaware of code to open door (we weren’t told this as no one was there when checking in). Bathroom felt very mouldy and dirty

The walls are paper thin and this created problems with fellow guests who felt 10pm was too late for people to be talking. Also the bar closed at 9.30pm

Loved the hotel and room. Very clean, even though it was dog friendly room. Normally other places give us a room that's not well kept or clean( even though we pay extra to cover for cleaning!) Lovely grounds, and food.Loved talking to one of the locals (Bill) at the bar.

Was met at reception by two housekeepers, manager was doing a function. Wasn't particularly friendly ( first impressions not good) but rest of staff very friendly and welcoming. Couldn't get a drink when we arrived,as bar was closed until 5.00pm, also closed on Sunday at same time. So early evening in room. We normally would have spent evening in the bar.

Nice peaceful surroundings, very friendly and helpful staff, Food was excellent. Clean room with nice views.

Property clearly needs some serious investment, strong smell of damp in hallways and entrance hall. No one on site between 3-5 so no bar facilities etc if arrived, overall looks a really tired property but could be amazing!

Food at dinner was great 👍 good value too

Really enjoyed our stay and the land around the hotel to walk our dog

Amazing buildings full of character. All needs renovation. When done they could charge the earth so get in now whilst it’s good value

It looks sad at moment needs a good gardener.
