Beds took up too much space in the room.

It was a well kept old Hollywood style interior. I’ve stayed at The Plaza Hotel and it had the same character but not the glitz.

The ice machines were on floors 1 and 5, if you were staying on a different floor you couldn’t stop on those floors, so, no ice.

it was a great hotel to stay at and it was close to my music show with The Castellows

2nd time staying here. Love the place, lobby area, coffee bar, room nice clean and roomy. Plenty of towels and hot water. Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend staying here. Went with another couple and they enjoyed it also.

Very convenient to nearby wedding but front desk staff was unhelpful. Everyone we spoke to gave a different story about early check in. I was told we could not use valet parking until we checked in and we could not check in until 4:00. Received an email inviting me to check in online and there was an option for early check in for $30. Received another email that stated "the item (early check-in) was out of stock." Called front desk and they said absolutely no early check in. Arrived early and they offered me early check in for $50. Valet staff said we actually could park before checking in. Meanwhile, another desk person was charging man next to me $50 to check in and 5 min. later another member of our family checked in early for free. Very slow elevators and no option to take stairs up or down. Rooms were very large and spacious, but oddly empty of furniture and nothing at all on the walls. Front desk would not let us see a menu for breakfast next day even though I could see them behind the desk. There was a marathon starting right in front of the hotel morning of check-out and streets were closed, but front desk staff had no information about it even though we saw several runners staying at the hotel.

I assume the policies are to make or save money, but they cause a tremendous amount of ill will. I witnessed or talked to multiple guests upset about the early check-in & thermostat policies. --After reading about how bad the street noise was, I requested (& got) an inner room, so it was quiet. --Early check-in will cost you. I can understand why they charge for guaranteed early check-in if you request it in advance. I am NOT on board with them charging even if the room happens to be ready when you get there before check-in time. This policy also appeared to me to be applied inconsistently.  --Thermostat: you cannot control it yourself; you have to ask the desk to adjust it. But they don't tell you this--you have to figure it out on your own when you can't adjust it yourself (unless you know in advance from the reviews, as I did) and then ask the front desk to change it for you. Americus: Why not at least put a little sign up explaining this if that's how you're going to handle temperature changes? --I was told by 2 people--but cannot verify--that you cannot move between floors via the stairs (barring emergencies, I assume). If this is true, I think it's a terrible policy. --Checking in/unloading was a challenge, as there is only street parking in front of the hotel and when I got there the spots were taken so I had to circle till they freed up. Officially you can't use the valet till you've checked in so again, if there are not spots, good luck lugging your bags.--Valet parking is $35. I checked one nearby public lot--it has an hourly rate so depending on how long you're staying, it may not be significantly cheaper --Bad bathroom design: There's a ton of needless dead space, but then the sink is shoved in a corner with very little counter space. Perhaps this is unavoidable because of plumbing lines or something. But the problems could be alleviated easily. Why aren't there shelves near the sink? Or more hooks? There were 3 of us in the room (it sleeps up to 4) and there just wasn't room enough for our toiletries, wet towels, etc.

Staff was incompetent. The parking valet let go of the luggage cart which smashed into our car resulting in a big dent. Check in staff was irritated with us asking for early check-in. The stairs are not accessible. You cannot go up without being "trapped". Do not stay in a room next to the elevator as you'll hear every ding throughout the day/night.
