Heritage House Inn on Cape Cod, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Bed linen had blood stains, which should’ve been a red flag for what was to come. Got up at 3:10am to find bed bugs crawling all over mattress.

Location to downtown and waterfront fishing area / ferry

Card readers didn’t work all the time. 5-6 times to get into the room, door to bathroom wouldn’t fully close. Maybe a humidity issue

The carpet was dirty and stinky. The floor you could hear cracks beneath the carpet.

The property was undone, under construction.

Great location! 10 minute walk to the island ferries & a variety of good restaurants within walking distance. Felt very safe & the staff was pleasant and polite. Great value for the price of the room. Our only issue was that the doors were sticky & difficult to open.

We were told since the first day that the cleaning consists of : cleaning the bathroom, doing the beds and vacuuming the floor. Nothing was done but the beds. We complained three times and the first time was said to me that it wasn’t okay and they will notify the cleaning lady. But nothing was done that day either. The other complaints we were laughed at and not taken seriously. They were arrogant and didn’t want to do anything and would tell all the time the manager is not here but will be notified. They never notify their manager and I never received his call. They were gaslighting me and laughing at our faces and told me that they didn’t have the time for this. It was simply disgraceful. We will never go back there for the horrible customer service. I have never felt humiliated like this in a foreign country before.

Overall good experience for the night and very conveniently located, I would book here again.

Booked direct on Choice website and it was a bit confusing with the Comfort Inn location and connection. I thought I had read to go to the Comfort inn to check-in but they directed me to their back building. Check in was fine and room was on the 2nd floor in a different building (no elevator). The room appeared clean and basic amenities (no conditioner tho). There was no closet but an open space where there would normally be one – no hangers or rod either. Bathroom light is very dim – glad I brought a travel makeup mirror. No iron (I found a clothes steamer if you know how to use), no bible, notepads, pens etc. The wall lights they have next to the bed are way too high. One must get out of bed to reach up to turn off/on. Liked the pull-down blind that was also a Cape Cod picture. You also must walk up to the Comfort Inn for breakfast which could be a bit challenging for some or drive up – would not be pleasant in rain/snow. Decent breakfast with the regular options, clean and attended. Good location for walking to Bismore Marina Park, restaurants, Main St, etc. Think they are still ‘renovating’ – not for everyone but would stay again. Price was decent esp compared to others in the area.

Great price in walking distance to the harbor, shops, and dining. Stayed two nights with 2 children and it worked well for us. The best part was the convenient location. It is not easy to find when first driving there. The sign is not visible from the street. It is tucked in beside the Comfort Inn. Get to breakfast early, they ran out of all food before 9:30 even though breakfast goes until 10.

The worst pillows

This place was revolting. Black mold in the bathroom. Trash behind the nightstand. My kid took a shower and his bare feet were black just walking from the shower to the bed so who knows when it was last cleaned. The furniture was all shattered or scratched. The TV didn’t work. The beside lamp switch was up so high, you had to nearly get out of bed to turn it off, and the place was insanely dim to begin with. No view but of trash and the broken window. The toilet seat was loose. And the entire place smelled something awful. Had to keep the AC blasting to pretend it was fresh air - which also sucked because there was no extra blankets and an extremely thin comforter on the beds. The beds were the worst part. It was like sleeping on the floor. The pools were just grimy. What a horrible horrible place.
