We always stay at the Mercure - the staff are super friendly, great location, and lovely rooms.

Sadly this time we were in a room that seemed really pokey in comparison to previous stays - despite it being an upgraded room. Maybe we were underneath a stairwell or staff area as we could hear people walking around and moving furniture a lot - plus everytime someone in another room flushed the toilet/used water we could hear the water coming down the pipe which must have been running through the wall of our room. It was also right next to another room, much more close/connected than the usual rooms we have had before. Seems like we just got back luck with room allocation, but it was a shame as every other time we've stayed there the room has been great!
