Boulevard Palace Hotel

I checked in to Boulevard Palace on the 31st of December 2024, within a day after the hotel had just lost one of their senior executives. During my check-in, law enforcement was on-grounds conducting the investigation for a suspected "suicide." Despite the bereavement, the staff were very professional. Wokie at the front desk always greeted guests with a smile. I was a little concerned of a day shift manager delay to immediately inform me after completing my request; however, he later told me it was his plan to inform me, but I was on the phone with a family member and he never wanted to interrupt me. My housekeeper ("Albertha", if I can recall), ensured that my room was cleaned, refreshing and regularly stocked with towels. The meals were very delicious and the staff in the dining area were also very friendly. Security were all very vigilant and always willing to assist with directions when needed. It was amazing to experience that extra precaution is taken at night to keep guests and the property safer. For security reason, I will not disclose how. The room came with breakfast with up to five choices. While the cost for a night and a meal could be a little pricey for some people; however, the location and the high quality of service make the hotel very reasonable. The place is very nice! I wont mind rebooking!

Proximity to city center and shops and restaurants

I have stayed at this hotel twice - both times because I was told to by my local colleagues for ease of transportation. It must be centrally located. The breakfast is always good and the rooms are large.

That is all the good I can really say about this property, It is REALLY OLD and not well maintained. My bathroom floor never fully dried after I showered. The carpet in the halls is worn and my doorway actually had a piece of marble that would come off every time I rolled a suitcase through it. The wifi is abysmal. Local friends suggested that it is just that way everywhere in Monrovia but I have stayed other places with excellent wifi so I know it is just the property. If you need wifi for meetings or anything else, do not plan on accessing it in the hotel.

The cleanliness of the room.

However, there is one area that needs improvement is the stability of the power supply for operating the elevators; Power shutdown keeps on interrupting elevators operation, and this is scaring, at one time during my stay the elevator stopped due to power supply going off. Otherwise generally a good place to stay in.
