St Helen's House with Minster views

I know this is beyond your control but there is a lot of street noise from people. I guess that was the reason for all the ear plugs.

Some of the mattresses are ready for replacement. The top rear room especially.

Clean property with good facilities

None of the windows were double glazed meaning the noise from the street which the property on made it impossible to sleep. Stayed for 2 nights and none of the group managed to get any sleep due to the 24hrs McDonald’s opposite

loved that it was spacious and comfortable. nice to have a table we could all sit around to play games and eat. loved the location. right in the centre of York. location couldn’t be better

We were told the designated smoking area is the courtyard. (we have it in writing) just two of the group smoked so went on to the courtyard. the neighbours complained and said smoking was not allowed on the courtyard and were not very nice. We then received a phone call from the proprietor. They had complained about the smoking and said we were rowdy. That was totally not true. if you can call two people quietly chatting whilst having a cigarette rowdy then guilty. I just do not think they liked the property being rented out as an holiday let as they’re all private residents. The proprietors threatened to ask us to leave if there was further disturbance. There wasn’t one in the first place so I felt on edge the rest of the weekend. The two that smoked had a cigarette outside the front of the property for the rest of the stay. One of them said she didn’t feel safe outside alone at night (the other had gone to bed)

Central location, plenty of space, owners very helpful.

A little noisy at night,especially in front bedrooms, but only to be expected given the location - and free ear plugs were thoughtfully provided!

Location was ideal and the apartment very comfortable.

The only downside to the apartment was the noise level late at night and early morning. This was particular noticeable for those sleeping on the Blake Street side of the house. We appreciate that this is a potential downside of staying in such a central location.

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay in York. Stunning home with beautiful English furniture, full of original design details. A high level of cleanliness and a fully equipped kitchen. We received an excellent response from the hosts and the location was excellent And close to all the main places in York. It is highly recommended and made our stay in the city especially special and wonderful!

There was an all night mcdonalds directly opposite which was not mentioned. No sleep due to noise from there all night. Toilet in 1 room broken
