"The Lodge at St. Edward state park"

8.0

1. Location Great location, located inside the St. Edward state park with forest and trails around it. It is quiet and peaceful. You can get uninterrupted rest here. 2. Service Very friendly staff, great experience checking in and out and room and valet parking service. 3. Room Not spacious, half the size of a regular Hilton room size, but clean room and bathroom with quality shampoo, conditioner and bodywash, the bed too high needing a stool to get up, good mattress, great view to the state park. 4.Welcome Gift A bottle of sparkling wine and sweets and bottles of water, very nice! 5. Room service Not too great, friendly staff, but food delivered without a cover 6. Overall It was a great stay.

"The perfect respite."

10.0

The grounds are situated on a former seminary turned state park. The gardens were beautifully abundant. From the moment we pulled up and the valet took our car to check in and to our room accommodations we found peace and calmness in our surroundings. We had breakfast, lunch, and a charcuterie board during our stay and all were delicious. I recommend the burger!

The only thing that could be explained is the climate/temperature control.

"Unusual and expensive"

8.0

This is an interesting hotel in the middle of a park- not your average place. Rooms were on the small side but very comfortable- modern decor. Staff were young and vibrant and helpful. We enjoyed walking the grounds in the sunshine.

"A peaceful, clean and recharging stay in extraordinary building with exceptional service."

10.0

The Lodge is our favorite hotel in Seattle. It's everything you could wish for and more! The nature around the lodge is so peaceful and clean, it's a pleasure to wake up early to enjoy a walk with your furry best friend. If you're looking for an exceptionally clean, peaceful and dog friendly place - you really need to stay here!

Only thing that I could think of would be a mini fridge in the room. Especially when you travel with a pup, it's easier to be able to keep some dog snacks/food cooled.

"Not so good service at Cedar + Elm"

6.0

Visited Cedar + Elm and wait staff Abby didn't really come by to check on us and didn't even fill the water despite 90-degree day. She didn't offer any dessert menu items, either. We ordered a burger and mushroom dish. The food was OK but again the service just fell short. Abby just handed us a bill at the end. Very bad service.

"A Unique Place to Stay for Outdoor Enjoyment"

8.0

St. Edward State Park is an unbeatable location for outdoor activities (we had great sunny weather in late May/early June). The Lodge is a pet friendly hotel, which could be a major incentive if you want to bathe in the woods with your favorite pup! The building itself is different and not quite what we expected as a "luxury" hotel. The website photos give a great impression, but keep in mind that this used to be a seminary. We were budget-conscious travelers, so we could only afford the basic-level room. It was well appointed, but more cruise-cabin sized. The spartan spaces were designed with piety and prayer in mind, now transformed into nicely appointed rooms with en-suite shower/toilet. Don't come expecting jacuzzi tubs or big lounge furniture unless you can afford and reserve one of the suites. The Lodge is not a hotel for "staying in" per se. There is a small library with books, games, and complimentary snacks, but not much else to do on a rainy day. Instead, we suggest using the Lodge as a great launchpad for daily hikes or day trips to nearby attractions. We toured Whidbey Island (several state parks and lovely rural areas) by car in a single day's excursion. The Lodge is a great destination for working conferences, outdoor weddings, or corporate retreats. They have ample meeting spaces for events and outdoor recreation. The staff were stellar. Everyone we encountered was cheerful, helpful, and appreciative of our patronage. Like most hotels these days, the housekeeping staff seemed a bit thin and one day's servicing was missed because we didn't depart until after 10am (no, we didn't leave the sign on the door). Oak and Elm is a grand dining room with a very delicious menu. We found it to be just right for morning Lattes and breakfast before a day's adventure. The three other dining alternatives (including room service) seemed to feature the same menu options, which was a bit disappointing. We expected to find some alternative menu options. Father Mulligan's and the Tonsorium Bar had a great beer selection, as one would expect for the Pacific Northwest. We limited our stay to three nights using Hilton Honors points to make it part of a longer, more affordable stay in Seattle. We would stay there again, but next time try to arrange a suite!

"Exceptional"

10.0

Great location, clean and well-designed room. I really appreciate the small thing like having a water kettle in the room to make tea or hot water. I loved the view outside of our window, the green meadow just so relaxing. I loved that the hotel is pet-friendly, they delivered a dog bed, bowls, and a small bag of treats to welcome my dod - such a nice touch. In addition, the hotel location is next to most beautiful trail that leads to the lake - a medium .68 mile trail that you'd hear bird singing and deer sighting (if going at dusk). Cedar and Elm restaurant had delicious food, we were able to enjoy with our dogs - table on the patio on a warm Pacific Northwest's day - gorgeous setting, yummy food, and great service, what else can you ask for. You really feel like you are being transported to an English country side - staying here. I'd love to stay here again if we are up here in the future.

"The Perfect Place"

10.0

The Lodge at St Edward is exceptional. The staff are gracious, friendly and truly seem to love what they do. The rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Love the high ceilings and preservation of a lost era. The stories that could be told from the birth of this place are reflected in the massive artwork and curation of the time when this seminary was birthed.
