Hotel AJ Gran Alacant

Lovely lobby and communal areas, super friendly and fast check-in by reception staff. Comfortable, clean rooms and bathroom with lobby rainfall shower. Very close to fast food restaurants, and walkable to better quality ones. Lidl very close too. Pool looked great. Would happily book again and would recommend.

A nice clean hotel with very good amenities on the doorstep as the hotel is located in a commercial shopping centre. A little bit away from the coast if you are looking for the beach but once you get familiar with the local buses Alicante and Santa Pola are within a short ride away. Rooms are bright & modern and the rooftop pool is relatively quiet with plenty of sunbeds available. Breakfast is varied with a wide range of local dishes but I would suggest they offer a fried egg/omelette option because the reconstituted scrambled egg is awful. All in all a pleasant stay and would highly recommend if you have access to transport but not if you expect to be walking distance to the beach.

High end hotel, very clean, very well maintaned, staff friendly and helpful. Stayed 10 days half board, breakfast was buffet style but evening meal was off menu, which is the only fault of this hotel, only 3 selections of starter, main and desert, so if there's nothing you fancy on there...well your eating out! We did eat out a few times yet still enjoyed most of the food from the menu in the hotel. Think if we'd have know we would have just gone B&B. However the hotel is very good otherwise. Just be careful ordering drinks from the hotel bar, 9 euro for a vodka & lemonade! Rooftop pool was good, always loungers available. Rooms with good aircon that even stays on while your out so you come back to a nice chilled room. Cleaners worked very hard and rooms were left spotless. I'd give 9/10 for this hotel, situated in a shopping area with a few bars and food places within a 3 minute walk. 10 minutes from Airport, 10 minute drive to nearest beach.

Amazing as usual. Came to celebrate my wife's birthday. Fransisco , the reception staff made it very memorable. The most fantastic members of staff were the chambermaids always smiling and doing a fantastic job.

We had the most wonderful stay at this hotel. Only 4kms from the airport. We arrived early and our room was ready. Staff very friendly and polite. I took the stairs, which were well lit and spotlessly clean, whilst hubby took the lift with our suitcases. The hotel smells divine throughout, and the corridors are beautifully decorated. Our room was very clean and plenty big enough with a large balcony which had a sunlounger and a table and chairs. The balcony had sun for most of the day. There was complimentary water waiting for us in the fridge and fluffy white towels and toiletries in the bathroom. No kettle, but we knew this, so we took our own travel kettle. The bed was most comfortable and very little noise voukd be heard in the room. There is plenty of wardrobe space and a large rainfall shower. Rooms were cleaned daily, even on a Sunday, and towels were replaced daily, too. TV was a little difficult to use with very little English channels. However, we didn't go away to watch TV. We didn't use the bar/restaurant, but you could order drinks to be delivered to the rooftop pool. We found the rooftop pool was quiet, spotlessly clean with great views. You can watch planes take to the sky and land! There were a few comfortable sunloungers which could be shaded but no shade with the less comfortable sunloungers. The pool was cold initially, but you soon warmed up. It was lovely to be able to take a dip as the weather was fo hot during our stay. Supermarket a few mins walk for essentials and plenty of eating places very close by. Some with live music. We really enjoyed our welcome at The London Tavern and buffet at Kesari Curry House during our stay. In the vicinity, there are lots of boutique shops, a tattoo parlour, your usual 'seaside' shops, and games/rides for children. We took a walk up to Masa Square, a lovely small square with a few eating and drinking venues. It took us about 10/15 mins walk. We passed a Lidl, Burger King, and KFC on our way! We had a late flight home, so we left our luggage with reception and enjoyed a day by the pool. We used the toilets to change, which was OK for us. We asked reception to call us a taxi and sure enough it arrived on time. Taxi was slightly more expensive than the one we had to come from the airport but we were happy knowing we were getting to the airport safely and on time. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are planning on booking for next July. Thanks, AJ Gran Alacant

We only stayed the 1 night before an early flight but found the hotel excellent and good value. Obviously a great location for the airport (10 minute drive) but also walking distance to a good selection of bars and restaurants. The room was modern, comfortable and very clean. (the only issue if it was an issue was a surprise visitor during the night a rather large cockroach that had to be disposed of) However, I'm sure we'll use again.
