Margaret is an excellent host, great communication throughout from booking to departure. This is a Rare find beautiful area fantastic cabin. Very clean a real home from home experience. Definitely worth the money we were made to feel very welcome. Very easy to find clear information/instructions from Margaret. 5 star rating 🌟

Beautiful lodge on peaceful site. Everything you need for a relaxing break convenient for trips into kirkby lonsdale or the lakes. Excellent communication from host. Couldn't fault anything.

No 1 Retreat at Carnforth is a perfect base for exploring the South Lakes area. The accommodation was outstanding, the interior has all the finishing touches and comforts required for a lovely holiday. The lodge was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The children loved feeding the ducks on the pond opposite and enjoyed the play park. The host, Margaret was excellent at communicating information and provided a very good guidebook for the area. There’s plenty to do in the area whatever the weather. The leisure centre just over the road at the South Lakeland Park has a great swimming pool and we purchased a family pass for the day for £25, good value as my husband and two grandchildren went twice. We enjoyed a workshop at the Chocolate Factory in Hawkshead.

Lovely property, extremely clean and had everything you needed. Position was very quiet and some lovely walks nearby. Able to relax on the decking area while the sun was out. Great location to explore South Lakes.

10 out of 10, Absolutely amazing stay. The lodge is awesome and communication with Margaret the host is incredible, she responded to every email I sent asking questions about the area and generously offered us an extra night as we had to cancel our other stay due to ill health. The lodge has everything and is beautifully decorated with furnishings and even has netflix and wi-fi. The lodge is dog friendly with blankets provided should your furry friend decide they want to sit next to you on the sofa (we took our own as we knew ours would want to), dog treats were provided but the best dog friendly thing provided for us was the super dog lead which was hooked to the lodge so you could leave your dog sitting outside knowing they couldnt escape or catch the ducks that wandered to the lodge each day. Would highly recommend staying here for a relaxing break or base to explore the Lake District.
