Moon Wind Tayrona Hostel

+ very close to the entrance of Tayrona + possibility to leave the luggage while visiting Tayrona (10.000 COP/person) + nice pool with nice views + restaurant with good food + host organized a taxi for us

- the room was a little dirty and the shower was not the best - the breakfast could be a little more rich (maybe some fruit) and for breakfast there is only coffee or chocolate included (some water or juice would be nice)

Very nice place, a little rough to get to the Hostel if you have luggages because there are a lot of steps and the high humidity makes it tough and tiring. The staffs are extremely nice and helpful and there are kittys and doggys which is always a +. The hostel is literally at a 2 min walk distance from the Tayrona Park.

We were told specifically by the host not to take food with us, because of hotel policies. We arrived and we were told the opposite. The restaurant service was off. We were lucky that the girl there was very helpful to order a take away meal. The room was nice but full of insects because most of the windows have open spaces between and do not close well.

Value for money and very close the entrance to park. Nice small pool area.

The road was closer than I thought and ruined a bit the experience of being in the nature.

Above all else, the location of the hostel is outstanding - it is a 5 minute walk to the Tayrona Park entrance. The room also offers a fabulous view of the surrounding mountains (if you are in the right room, or sitting in the pool).

* The road leading up to the hostel is in bad shape - it barely qualifies as a road. This is of course not something the hostel can control, but it's good to be aware of this. In the evening, it is a bit hard to navigate. There are also a lot of stray dogs in the neighborhood. * The wifi did not work at all in the room. It just about worked in the main area. * There are some untrained dogs who live in the hostel area. I saw dog poop in the corridors every single day. * Our "VIP" room is as basic as it could get. It had 2 beds, the AC and a side table. I suppose if you think of the room as a tree-house, it makes sense. The bathroom was shoddily constructed, and I was half afraid the pipes or taps would fall off if I was not careful. * No one came in to check if we needed any kind of room service. * The restaurant was not working during the time we stayed in the hotel.

LOVED the staff. LOVED the location, the pool/hot-tub, the hammocks and the views! The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We got in later than check-in and they were ready and waiting for us and even helped us order food since the kitchen was closed. The food that was cooked there that we did have was delicious. Every suggestion was awesome and all guidance and advice was highly appreciated. Just all around I could not recommend this highly enough.

Didn't realize we would only have a fan and not A/C, it only hit one side of the room. A second fan for the other side of the bed/room would be great.

Staff was great, location perfect for doing a day trip to Tayrona. Breakfast was a great addition. Pool and jacuzzi were our highlight!

A bit difficult to contact the staff prior to the stay to figure out directions, but got it sorted out. The shower needed a bit of a deep cleaning and the beds were not that comfortable, but for the price we were still happy with our stay and would recommend going!
