Casa Mont'Santo with Balcony & Terrace

The house is full of character — a true countryside home with charm and personality. The views from the balcony and terrace are absolutely breathtaking. It's located in a peaceful and quiet area, perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. The house is spacious and offers a unique atmosphere. Staying here was a special experience, well worth the few inconveniences.

One of the three bedrooms is much smaller and less comfortable than the others — it has a single bed and no view or balcony. The bathroom and toilet are on the same floor as one room, while the other two bedrooms are one floor up. There were quite a lot of insects inside the house. Also, it was a bit tricky to find the address using Google Maps.

The spectacular view, multiple floors and terraces, and the dead-central location. But be warned: driving in this part of the village is notoriously difficult (in summer, a nearly impossible mission).

Staying at this place was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were completely captivated by the breathtaking view from both the window and the terrace. Waking up to such a spectacular landscape every morning felt like a dream, it’s the kind of scenery that stays with you forever. The location is simply perfect: peaceful, yet right in the heart of magical Monsanto. Everything is within walking distance, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the unique charm of this incredible village. It truly feels like a home away from home, blending modern comfort with the authentic atmosphere of the surroundings. If you’re looking for a place that offers beauty, tranquility, and a deep connection with nature and history - this is it. We can’t recommend it enough!

We do have one small suggestion - NOT a complaint, but rather an idea to make this already wonderful place even better. In the house description, it says "The fireplace is the standout feature of this holiday home," but upon arrival, we found that there was no firewood available. Since the nearest large supermarket (Intermarché Idanha a Nova) is about 25 km away, this makes it a bit tricky for guests who expect to enjoy the fireplace right away. It would be amazing if a small starter pack of firewood could be provided for convenience. Additionally, a small welcome gesture - such as juice, milk, or some local pastries - would add a warm and thoughtful touch. These are small details that don’t cost much but would significantly enhance the overall experience. Thank you for a truly memorable stay and we hope to return in the future! 💙

Location! Had everything we needed.

Parking is down a VERY narrow lane. It was tricky but doable.

Spacious holiday home, ideal to spend a few days and explore the surroundings. Well equipped kitchen. Beautiful outside terrace and balcony.

The lady who checked us in was quite frustrated with us being late for the check-in. As it is quite difficult to estimate driving times for first time visitors, we arrived 30min later than anticipated, which should not have been such a problem.

Great location with fabulous views. The house was well equipped and we enjoyed the charcoal bbq. Living the Portuguese dream.

No real shops in the village, so bring some goodies with you.
