My wife and I had to take an unplanned trip to assist with a family situations in the area. For a shorty 5 day stay, Kasa South was several hundred dollars cheaper than nearby hotels, with more promised facilities. The few reviews, and no refunds within 5 days of a reservation had me nervous in terms of what to expect. I am happy to say, however, that everything went smoothly. So smoothly, in fact, that part of me does not want to post this review, as it may generate more demand and no longer be my "hidden gem" . Our experience:
Check-in: The process went smoothly. A lot of the information you provide upfront, online. Since we were renting a car, we could provide our auto information until after we picked it up, but this was easy to do online.
Arrival and location: The property in is a gated community, in a nice area of Wellington, which is a plus. They sent the access code for the property before we arrived, as well as detailed instructions on, once inside, how to get to the building where your rental is located. There was ample parking available.
Rental apartment: It was on the third floor, and there are no elevators (which they warn you about before booking), but though we are in our 60s we are healthy and mobile, so getting our bags (and a set of golf clubs) up to the rental was no big deal. No keys, a coded lock (the code was provided before our arrival).
The apartment was GREAT. I have posted a few pictures. It was much better staying there for 5 days than in an hotel room. Living room, dining area, roomy kitchen with new appliances. A washer and dryer closet. A large walk-in closest in the bedroom. Bathroom with bathtub. Porch if one wanted to sit outdoors.
Plates, utensils, pots, coffee, tea were provided in the kitchen. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion provided in the bathroom. Large flatscreen TVs in both the living room and bedroom.
Most important... the place was CLEAN. It felt like we were the first persons to ever rent it.
Amenities: There is a pool (additional towels provided) , looked nice but we did not have time to use it. There is a workout room with free weights, and weight machine, treadmills and ellipticals. We used it while were there. There were other amenities, like BBQ stations you could reserve, but we did not use anything else as we were out much of the time.
Atmosphere: Outdoors the place was quiet. There were people around, but not a lot (I saw maybe a dozen other people during our stay) never noisy (they have a "quiet" rule after 9pm that was adhered to), and all were friendly. Some work was going on on parts of the property, but I would not have known that if I had not walked around the place some. It borders a lake, and walking along the lake was a pleasant time.
Checkout: Also easy, just pack and leave before checkout time (we chose to do a little cleaning and running the dishwasher before we left, trying to leave it as clean as we found it ).
In general, after a day of driving around the area for various reasons, it was nice to have a place like this to come back and relax at. It was MUCH more comfortable and convenient than a hotel. We liked having a nice kitchen, to provide an option for preparing food ourselves instead of having to eat out all of the time. When we return to this area in the future, it will definitely be at the top of our list for places to stay, especially for a longer (5 or more days) stay.
