Bodmin Jail Hotel

De bijzondere setting maakt een verblijf in Bodmin Jail Hotel echt anders dan een klassiek hotelverblijf. Voor wie houdt van geschiedenis, karaktervolle locaties en een originele ervaring is dit hotel een absolute aanrader. Wij bewaren aan dit verblijf alleen maar mooie herinneringen en komen graag nog eens terug.

Niks viel ons hier tegen.

The uniqueness of the hotel. Big room and bathroom with airconditioning. Complimentary drinks. Easy parking. Continental and hot breakfast available. Breakfast staff was super friendly.

The hot breakfasts often had a really long waiting time even when the breakfast room wasn’t that busy. The staff did kindly apologize for this every time but the first morning we had to wait 45 minutes. Staff at reception could be a little friendlier/more enthusiastic. An information sheet in the room with breakfast times, location of gym etc would be nice to read over again once you’re in the room, there’s signage on every floor though.

A really nice hotel to stay in. Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

The bar is great with huge outside space and lovely friendly staff.

Reception staffed by the warder from prisoner cell block h, rude unhelpful and if you are travelling solo expect a courtesy call to ask why you are alone and on arrival to be told the kitchen closes before 8.30pm even though last orders are always 9pm - punishment for being a solo traveller or maybe I’m paranoid lol. Pillows and mattress hard and in keeping with a prison cell not a luxury hotel. Windows didn’t open, underfloor heating blazing away in 35 degree heat. Food average for a pub meal and not in keeping with a luxury hotel. The restaurant was far too hot at 8am to take breakfast and no outside area - overall a rubbish experience.

An utterly unique place to stay! More than the (gory) history though, the building has been developed really thoughtfully - every detail is spot on. All the staff we interacted with were exceptional - the perfect mix of friendly and professional - nothing was too much trouble. Even though we arrived late, everything went very smoothly. The breakfast was tasty too! We were only there overnight but we managed to squeeze in the tour, which was well worth it. We’ve already recommended it to friends!

Breakfast was excellent, the staff were lovely, definitely recommend this Hotel. Very special. We went there on another recommendation and we're very happy.
