Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape

Tout. C’était de loin un de mes plus beaux hôtels. Une expérience inédite, au cœur de la nature, entourée par la jungle et les rizières. Le concept no wall no door est fabuleux pour se connecter à la nature. On se sent « libres », apaisés tout le long du séjour. Le personnel est d’une incroyable gentillesse. Ils ont vraiment le sens de l’hospitalité. Le restaurant était incroyable. Une nourriture saine, locale, travaillée, aussi bon que beau. Mention spéciale pour le spa du 3 et sa vue plongeante sur la nature. L’accès à la cascade est un vrai plus, c’est un véritable coin de paradis.

Une salle de sport serait un vrai plus même si l’endroit se suffit à lui même.

Buahan is pure magic. From the moment we arrived, the incredible team made us feel at home. Arsana, Sri, Ogi, Suyasa, Rudi, Legi, Titi, Budi, and Dharma each brought their own warmth, care, and attention that made our stay unforgettable. The property is breathtaking—immersed in nature, open to the jungle, with amazing food, a restorative spa, and an atmosphere of complete peace. Buahan is more than a resort, it is an experience we will treasure and return to.

Het was een van mijn mooiste ervaringen in mijn leven: wat een locatie. Prachtige zonsopgang, ik was al om 6 uur wakker om het mee te beleven. De bediening was fantastisch: super vriendelijk mensen. Ik heb hier ook mijn beste ontbijt ooit gehad.

Het eten, zoals ik net beschreef, was mijn beste ontbijt ooit, maar ik heb hier ook minder goed gegeten…. Soms is het iets te speciaal. De prijzen van de wellness zijn ook te duur. Ons zwembad was ook te koud en niet zo aantrekkelijk om in te zwemmen.

Zero mosquito in the living and sleeping area. Nice 5 course dinner and the accessibility of water fall from my room was the highlight.

Location is bit far from airport so taxi service are hard and bit expensive

Beautiful hotel with truly exceptional service from start to finish. Some dinner courses were a bit lacking in flavor, while the main dish never disappointed. A small downside was the pool, which is not heated in all the villas.

It’s been a month since we came back from Buahan and the memories are still so fresh in our minds! Widi, our excellent host during our stay- was friendly, professional and brilliant at anticipating our needs and made thoughtful suggestions to make our time at Buahan more enjoyable. Thank you Widi! We had the pleasure to meet Puspa who is the Resort Manager, our conversation revealed how she’s been involved with the project from the very beginning and her love for the “resort” is apparent in the big and small details that make Buahan so special. Now onto the resort- our Bale, not “villa” was probably the most beautiful space we’ve ever stayed at. We knew about the “no doors or walls” concept but weren’t prepared for how breathtaking it would be to be in a vast but secluded space of your own, immersed in the Balinese forest with views of more forest, rice terraces and the 7 (+2) peaks. Our hike to an untouched waterfall and stream via a private path down a hill was the perfect touch of adventure to break up the extreme tranquility :) Forever grateful for the memories and we can’t wait to be back.

Staying at Buahan, Banyan Tree Escape was truly one of the most memorable and soul-nourishing experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in care, kindness, and serenity. Nestled deep in the jungle, this retreat offers a rare connection to nature that leaves a lasting impression. Every detail—from the open-air villas to the immersive sounds of the forest—was thoughtfully curated to create a sense of peace and presence. What made it even more extraordinary was the incredible staff. Arsana, Ogi, Rudi, Sri, Tirta, Dharma, and Ari treated us with such heartfelt hospitality, it felt like we were being welcomed into their home. It was genuinely hard to say goodbye—not just to the beauty of Buahan, but to the people who made it feel so special. Thank you to the entire team for your warmth and the care you poured into every moment of our stay. We can’t wait to return!

Incredible immersion in nature. Bale accommodation links you directly into the jungle. Most helpful, friendly & authentic staff. And incredible food with basis local ingredients & plant based.
