Wow just wow! I cannot explain how incredible this experience is, I am an Independent Travel Agent and so I have been to some stunning locations all over the world but this, this exceeds every travel experience I’ve ever had, I took my daughter here to celebrate her 18th birthday and it was truly life changing, I need to say a special thank you to Riadi and Ogee who went above and beyond to ensure we had the most beautiful time. If you want to experience the true escape from the city and traditional tourism scenes, the banyan tree is your choice. Located in Buahan, this resort is an open-air sanctuary with no walls or doors, which allows you to be surrounded by wilderness nature. I stayed here for two nights which I wish I would have stayed longer to reconnect with nature, and enjoy a unique, radical retreat. The resort has only 16 villas, each one of them offered big space and comfortable bed. The package also included breakfast and dinner, of which the ingredients are coming from the botanic garden. From raw material to table only takes few minutes, the menu changes every day, and the chef is trying all the way to make sure the guests enjoy freshened and delicacy. A big thank you to our butler and the team to take care of us during our stay. We will definitely come back.

One of the most amazing experiences we have had at any hotel in the world. The room was spectacular and such a unique way to stay. We were worried about the lack of doors or windows, but it was not an issue at all and our bed was very cool every night. The food was excellent and service was perfect. Everyone at the property was super friendly and willing to help. I wish we could wake up to the view of the jungle every single morning - it is something we will never forget.

During the last 21 years I have spent an average of 150-200 nights yearly in different hotels all around the World: beach places, business, jungles, safaris, remote places...but nothing like Buahan A Banyan Tree Escape. I would describe it like a place with real SOUL...far away from clichés such "feeling at home far away from home" and others, this place is different to the rest. The hospitality concept of Its Team is just amazing and the chance of listening the silence the whole day is priceless. Hopefully we will be back in the next future, many thanks on behalf of my wife and myself.

Excellent service and atmosphere Truly unique and amazing experience. Breathtaking views in the middle of the jungle (located about 1 hr from Ubud) The hotel has a clear vision around ethics and culture which runs through all aspects of the hotel including the menu which is 70% plant based and locally sourced. Particularly enjoyed the walk to the private waterfall and the dining experience over the 2 nights we were there. We got really good service from Diva and Tinie, always smiling, welcoming and went the extra mile. Also shout out to the manager Raka who listened and genuinely welcomed feedback.

The only issue is on the last night they run out of Tequila, which is not acceptable considering the remote location and that this hotel is luxury 5 star. The manager came to say sorry and acknowledged this was not good enough. (My wife only drinks tequila). The manager Raka was great, very empathetic and listened to what we had to say. I think 2-3 nights would be sufficient to stay here should you wish to completely relax.

Our stay at Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, was exceptional and transformative. The team's attention to weaving cultural traditions into a luxury experience is outstanding. Every detail of our experience felt intentional, from the ceremonial welcome, to the farm to table menu that changes daily, to the design of the fabric of the robes in the room. Every gesture of service radiated care, thoughtfulness, and an unparalleled sense of serenity. The blending of open design with the lush natural surroundings created a feeling that we were not “staying” somewhere, but rather becoming part of a living, breathing sanctuary. Every corner of the resort seems designed with intention, fostering both peace and wonder. We are especially grateful to the Mr. Made, the chef, whose artistry turned every meal into an exploration of flavor and place. Each dish felt rooted in the land yet elevated to something unforgettable. To the massage therapist team, Kadek and Tirta, thank you for treatments that were both restorative and deeply grounding. The yoga instructor provided calm guidance that helped us reconnect with our bodies and surroundings, while the botanist bar staff, Ari, crafted drinks that were inventive and nourishing. The waitstaff of Sri and Riska deserve special mention for their warmth, attentiveness, and the way they anticipated needs before we even voiced them. To Riadi, our Escape Host, we extend our deepest thanks for orchestrating every aspect of our stay with such grace, responsiveness, and genuine care. The level of attention to detail and responsiveness at Buahan is remarkable. It truly feels as if the entire team is devoted to creating an experience that is luxurious and meaningful. The Buahan is an immersion into nature, wellness, authentic Balinese culture and hospitality at its highest expression. We leave with full hearts, grateful memories, and an eagerness to return to this extraordinary sanctuary.

The best place I have stayed so far in Bali! The service was outstanding and everyone was very welcoming and helpful, especially Budi who took great care of everything and explained all the ins and outs of the location and surroundings. The mixologist was outstanding, highly recommend to try the seasonal cocktails. The meals tasted amazing and the ingredients are locally sourced which makes it even more special. Thank you to everyone again.

Amazing place and amazing services. The view is like a fairytale, the staff is more than happy to help and the food is amaizing. Wonderful to wake up in such a view, hearing the birds sing and play on the edge of the pool. Can't wait to come back!

This is a fantastic experience. From the minute you arrive, every member of staff goes out there way to make your stay special. The bale was perfect and very comfortable. The attention to detail was amazing. Pool area was lovely and iced water and cool towels were a lovely touch. Food is up there with Michelin star restaurants. Overall a perfect stay.
