"Very pleasant stay!"

8.0

Property is lovely and well presented! Ideal for a single traveller or couple. There is a sofa bed downstairs. Everything you need kitchen wise with a pub over the road and a chip shop a minute walk away! Hoover provided which is brilliant because I like to keep on top of my dogs shedding! I would 100% book again. Thank you.

Just a word of warning (though not an issue if you have a car!) to get to the space around the back it’s a very tight alley. But there’s ample parking on the road if you aren’t too sure about the turn.

"Good for a quiet couple days."

8.0

Nice cozy cottage with good facilities. Log burner is a good addition.

The parking was a little tricky, couldn't access the property directly, as other cars were blocking the road.

"Lovely stay overall"

8.0

Lovely location and very quaint, period property. Busy village which cannot be helped so parking bit difficult.

Probably needs some updating, sofa was okay but not comfy. I have messaged owner separately so hope will be resolved. Need to know how to get in parking wise as can be tricky.

Lovely period cottage in a good location for us. Good communication with host. Very comfortable and slept so well in the 4 poster bed. Good facilities within the property but also in the village, shop, chip shop, chemist etc. Adequate parking

"Recommended for a great value stay in a quaint cottage with lots of positives."

8.0

What was great about the property: value for money, check-in instructions, communication with the owner, quaint cottage, good heating and hot water system, comfortable bed, great location for our needs (attending a wedding nearby), amenities (eg Co-op convenience store) within walking distance.

I think the parking arrangements need to be spelt out to prepare visitors. You have to drive down a narrow lane between the stream and the cottages. It's tight to drive into the alleyway to park behind the cottage. The lane is a dead end, so accessible only from one end and if other residents have parked in front of their cottages you can't get through. When we arrived we were unable to unload in the pouring rain because next door's vehicle (a large SUV) was blocking access. Jamie quickly responded to my concerns but the next couple of days the vehicle was still back and to. The sofa was unfortunately very uncomfortable. There would ideally be a blind on the kitchen window for privacy after dark as it faces the alleyway and next door's kitchen. The clothes hanging space in the bedroom boiler and storage cupboard didn't suit our needs!

"Perfect little cottage"

10.0

Perfect cottage for a solo traveller or a couple. Comfy bed, fab bath, and a secure yard for a doggy. Very comfortable through and through.

Parking can be a bit tricky but that's out of the owners hands.

"Would not stay there again."

4.0

The location was good.

There should be a handrail on the stairs. There should be a grab rail in the bathroom. There should be a non-slip bath mat provided for the bath. There was no extractor fan. The shower head kept slipping down, it wouldn't stay in position. There was no shaving mirror. The towels old and washed out. The toilet seat falls down. The sofabed in the lounge was very basic and uncomfortable, I wouldn't want to sleep on it. There was no icebox in the fridge, I had taken ice packs. Toaster old and rusting. The bedding smelt fusty. The duvet was a heavy one, it should be a summer weight one at this time of year. The huge chest of drawers not necessary, replace it with a proper wardrobe instead of using the boiler/store cupboard as a wardrobe. The dressing table needs to be closer to the sockets, hairdryer barely reached when sitting in front of the mirror. There were not enough photos on the website, there was no inventory of contents, didn't know whether to bring hairdryer, fan etc. The cottage is quaint but that's not the reason I chose it. Olde Worlde is old n'worn.
