"A great base for Kyoto!"

This is a great base for visiting Kyoto. The room was perfectly designed for travellers, despite it's compact size. It had everything a traveller would require. The complimentary pyjamas/lounge outfits were so comfitable. We opted for the hotel breakfast and were not disappointed with the wide range of fresh options available each morning. This meal set us up for a day's sight seeing. The hotel staff were so lovely and helpful. They spoke excellent english, too. I would recommend this wonderful hotel to travellers.

This hotel was in an incredibly convenient location and I enjoyed my short stay there. There was more noise from the street than my previous hotel that was more nestled into the neighborhood. I'd say its a good budget hotel, but if you're looking for a luxurious hotel experience, this property is not for you.

My friend and I stayed at 3 different hotels while we were in Japan and Hotel Abest was our most favourite one - we would joke "Hotel Abest is the best". We liked the fact that the hotel was right in front of Kiyomizu-Gojo station, so it made travel around the city more easy. Also nice because it was only a 19-minute walk to Nishiki Market and 20-minute walk to the Gion area. There was a Lawson and Family Mart convenience store right across the street from us too. The staff were very polite and friendly and always greeted us when we would come and go through the lobby. I would stay here again if I came back to Kyoto :)

This hotel located along the Highway Only 2 convenient store located opposite. Scary to walk 20 minutes to the one and only restaurant. It was so dark along the way.

Location was great, but very loud in the evenings due to the big intersection. However, the plethora of food options and walkability to major sights was a huge plus! No luggage forwarding services either.
