JW Marriott Hotel Guadalajara

Fabulous hotel. Food incredible and service sensational. Jose in the Agave restaurant attended me throughout the weekend. He made me feel extra special by remembering my preferences. He is such a delight.

This hotel is amazing!! We had breakfast in the restaurant and our server Jose was amazing on top of everything. Best service ever. I love Mexico! Their hospitality is at another level. The food is amazing, great atmosphere. I will definitely come back.

The room and views were great, the gym and exec floor as well. The overall experience of staff was really fantastic. We sadly had a very disappointing experience. I had left my ipad on the bed (plainly visible, not under any sheets) after reading the morning newspaper. The next morning I am looking for my ipad, and look everywhere thinking it had fallen under the bed. We called the front desk to report it and they call us back a while later asking what it looks like (we said, it looks like an ipad, and a big tag on it with my email printed). Later on, they say (30 hours after the fact) that they found the ipad in the laundry service. We are not amused. It took them 30 hours to realize and asked odd questions (as if they wanted to know which of many ipads?). We hope that this will be investigated as it seems to be a method of stealing.

Great hotel, nice service. I would only improve 3 things: AC is not always consistent. Breakfast at the executive lounge could vary a bit more from day to day. If an event is cancelled (due to any reason) you should inform the people that was interested in it, as I got the first call with the price but never th cancellation one.

The hotel overall is great, in all aspects. Service is spectacular. Staff in front desk, concierge and executive lounge are excellent. My only comment on the executive lounge, they should open longer hours. It’s open 6-9am for breakfast everyday. In our case, we were on vacation, and we missed breakfast because we came after 9am. My suggestion is to open until 10am weekdays, or 11am on weekends.

I recently spent a week at the JW Marriott Guadalajara for my wedding, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was. We had over 100 guests staying at the hotel, which could have been a challenge, but the staff handled it with such professionalism and warmth. Thanks to my Platinum status, I was upgraded to a beautiful suite upon arrival. They even offered to move me to a higher floor the next day to make sure I had the best view possible. The lounge was stunning and became one of my favorite places to relax during the week. What really stood out was how accommodating the team was with all the wedding details. They went above and beyond for my wife—steaming her dress, bringing champagne and a charcuterie board for her “get ready” day, and even providing an additional room for me to get ready before seeing her. Those thoughtful touches made everything feel that much more special. The entire staff was fantastic, but I want to highlight David at the front desk. He always greeted us with a smile and truly went out of his way to ensure everything for the wedding went smoothly. His attention and kindness made a big difference. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to keep the AC in the rooms a little cooler. At times it felt warm, and the temperature didn’t drop as low as I would have liked. Even with that, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guadalajara. Between the beautiful property, the excellent service, and the personal touches, it’s easily one of the best hotels in the city

Really enjoyed my dinner at Agave restaurant. I was exhausted and starving after a long day of travel and Jose provided fantastic service, and great food and cocktail recommendations. It was just the TLC I needed! I also thought the prices were very reasonable, particularly for a hotel restaurant. Icing on the cake was the beautiful interior design of the restaurant.

I decided to use my points to stay at this hotel. I spent 119,000 to stay for 5 nights. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by the bellhop, who took my bag. I checked in, and was first immediately upgraded to a corner room with floor to ceiling windows everywhere. Then I was also asked if I am willing to change rooms the next day for another upgrade. I immediately told them yes! The corner room was very nice with floor to ceiling windows everywhere. The views are amazing and I was able to see them from my bed and bathroom. The TV was large enough with an ample amount of channels to enjoy. The bathroom was clean and luxurious, with a wonderful short and the famous aromatherapy associates amenities. When I got upgraded the next day, I had a nice junior suite with a living room, bedroom, and 2 bathrooms. All with floor to ceiling windows with wonderful views of the city. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was so good that I even took a bath in the tub. The showers are more heavenly than the Westin. That living room was nice with a sofa and even dining tables. I also loved that the curtains are electronically controlled by hitting a button. The main challenge that I had with both rooms was the AC. This was a complaint among other reviewers because the thermostat can't be adjusted below 22C. That's because the thermostat is Internet controlled and maybe set by default for cost cutting measures. It wasn't an issue for me as it was cool enough, but others may find it a bit too hot. If you ask the front desk, they should be able to adjust to you. Other than the AC, it was just an amazing and luxurious room! The public areas are very nice with lots of artwork. The lobby is small, but nice with a bar attached. The pool, exercise room, and executive lounge are located on floor 14, which are very nice. The pool is a small splash pool, and has a bar area as well. The exercise room had an ample amount of equipment with wonderful views of the city. The executive lounge for platinum or higher members (you can also pay to access it) had a decent amount of breakfast items, snacks, and good appetizers during the evening. I wish they had a bit more selections and one more dessert item, but the quality of food was excellent. Even better was happy hour from 7 to 9, with unlimited complimentary alcoholic drinks. I did try the agave restaurant one day and the food was good for the price paid. The hotel has only 2 elevators for 15 floors, but I didn't have to wait too long to get one. I will say though when going on the elevator, I can feel asleep as the music played in the elevator is new age (spa) music. Same in the executive lounge too! The service is definitely JW quality. The staff is very helpful and attentive. A week before I checked in, the concierge, Christian, booked a reservation for me to visit Mazamitla. The executive lounge attendants, Giovanni, and Jeanette, were so helpful to me. I also saw one guest who came a little after happy hour and was a bit disappointed to see they ran out of fish, and the staff immediately got some for him to enjoy. I also saw one of the bellhops rushed to get the bags before the guest brought them to the lobby. The staff are very caring to the guests. This is definitely one of the most luxurious hotels in Guadalajara. It can get costly if you pay in cash, but you can get great deals using points. This is definitely the hotel to stay for living in luxury with the exquisite service.
