Barceló Margaritas Royal Level Adults Only

A super hotel with all you need for a great stay. Customer service is excellent, both friendly and professional.

Very good location with lots of different ways to walk to the beach. The Royal level is more exclusive and staff were exceptionall.

Having stayed at Barcelo Playa Blanca in Lanzarote a number of times we thought we'd try Gran Canaria. Didn't disappoint. Usual high standards. A short walk or cheap taxi from the night life and beaches.

The guest room was very good but most other elements of the stay were much less good. The gym is disappointing and potentially dangerous with loose and uneven flooring. The equipment is not maintained and probably hasn't been serviced in 5 years or more. The photos are misleading. Also the swimming pools are not suitable for actual swimming. The buffet resaurant has little ambience but you get used to it. The plates are well used and often not properly cleaned before being made available. The food was often lukewarm, especially the pasta options. The pizza was always available and usually a good option.

Bit of a difficult review to do, room good, beds not the most comfortable, hotel location not the best unless you want to visit the yumbo centre but after a couple of nights it’s boring. Our biggest letdown at this hotel was the restaurant but not for the frontline staff it was more the head chefs total ignorance of gluten intolerance and the customer service management to do any follow of customer requests. Frontline staff were very supportive but chef’s knowledge of gluten intolerance and food labelling was non existent. If you are coeliac or have a nut allergy then only visit if willing to live life on the edge. Would we go back no has to be the answer as it took 6 days out of a 7 day stay for the hotel management to finally to react to our request for a simple request of gluten free crackers at dinner. Other Barcelo hotels are available and have been a far better experience so it maybe wouldn’t totally put us off another location but not a return to this one.

The hotel is nice and staff a friendly and food is good….however the Royal Level pool has no atmosphere as in they don’t play any music EVER! which many guest almost all I speak to are dissatisfied with as it’s part of the holiday experience having nice music or DJ around pool area particularly if your paying more for Royal Level you expect some sort of entertainment even if only background music. Get this sorted and we would definitely come back.

An excellent stay once again. The service was outstanding, the room immaculate, and the food and drinks of great quality. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
