Casa Astral Hotel Boutique and Apartments

Slight confusion as to why this property refers to itself as a hotel let alone a ‘luxury’ hotel. It provides little to no service and doesn’t have the facilities one would associate with a hotel let. There’s no reception save for a front desk, no dining space and breakfast is coffee self served from a tower into a styrofoam cup with bread rolls offered as a ‘courtesy’ with no spreads or even plates. The property is near the beach with no beach space or loungers. The pool on the roof is tiny but does host a good view. The rooms are awkward. The bedroom had a bunk which was impossible to navigate around, the television only viewable by one place and the seating area in the living room was very uncomfortable. The service was patchy with random staff entering the room completely unannounced as though they were staying there (thank goodness I was up but it woke my girlfriend with a huge fright) and they seemed to have completely missed the part of the message when we ordered a taxi to leave to send someone to help with my girlfriends bag! Oh yes I should mention, three steep flights and no elevator. The location is just a little too far from everything apart from the ocean so you’ll end up taking taxis a few times a day. I would recommend you save the $10-$20 a day you’ll likely spend on taxis, the $20 or more you’ll spend to use a beach club, the extra cash you’ll have to fork out for breakfast and stay at a proper hotel is my advice.

Great hotel in a fantastic island. Rooftop amenities area was awesome with infinity pool with direct sunset view and hammocks for reading. Hotel was authentic Holbox style and in near new condition

What a stunning view!

The space was very nice, clean, and pleasant. The lack of fridge, microwave, and nearby dining options made meals challenging. Staff was friendly and pleasant but charged unforeseen taxes upon arrival- not a big deal, but the mention of this prior to arrival would have been helpful. Additionally the tax amount due changed significantly depending on the person asking for it (I wasn’t prepared to pay it until I unpacked my things). Lastly, I wasn’t aware that there wouldn’t be any drinking water available, so we had none until we bought some in town the next day. However, other rooms were given water jugs. I asked but was told none was available. I’m not sure if only certain types of rooms are provided with water or what the case was, but would have been good information to have so I could have been better prepared on the night we got there. A fridge, microwave, and water would have made this a perfect place. Overall, it was still nice, but had its challenges.

The property is very nice. It's confortable and the service was great! It's a new hotel so they dont have a place to eat but there are a lot of places closed by. Very nice pool area. It was my favorite part of the hotel.

This is an incredible property. Situated very close to the beach, and about a pleasant 15 minute walk to town. Quiet area away from downtown. If you're looking for a view, be sure to book an apartment. The standard room is extremely basic with no view, although the bathroom is very nice and the king size bed is really comfortable. Housekeeping could use some training, but the room was nice and clean. Since we had no view in the room, we spent a good deal of time on the beautiful rooftop terrace during the heat of the day - there is both shade and sun areas. The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos, but very nice. The staff at the front desk was super helpful and gave us lots of good information about the area. We will definitely return to stay at this beautiful property on our next visit to Holbox.

The floors in the room were very dirty when we first came in. I asked the cleaning staff twice to please clean them and after to nights they never did.

Amazing place. Staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. We rented bikes one day and explored. Hotel staff set it up and bikes were there waiting in the morning as requested. The walk to the main part of town is easy and fun especially along the beach. This hotel in in the best location on Holbox. Close to downtown but away enough to be uncontested and quiet. And there are several of the best beach clubs right out the door. We loved Maruva and Carolinda. Amazing Roof top pool and deck - it feels like highest place on the island. Rooms are clean and very tasteful. AC. Hotel is new so not a lot of reviews but we can’t recommend it enough. An excellent stay! Ensueno Holbox!

Amazing stay, hotel was recently opened so the rooms were new and clean. Super friendly staff and very very helpful. On the back side, it's a little far away from the action but that also makes it quite silent and peaceful. Amazing view from the 3rd floor.

Absolutely gorgeous and brand new!!! Very comfortable, people were great and very responsive. Roofdeck was amazing. Great location, although it's a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town. Great for us, but maybe not for everyone. We wish the kitchen was better stocked and more usable, and that daily cleaning was better. Also, no place on the beach that belongs to the property. And still no food option at the place. But all in all it was a great place for our family.
