Palm River Hotel

Beautiful facility, staff is very friendly & helpful. Concierge helped with additional activities & transportation to & from. Food was very good. Breakfast buffet plentiful! Since had trouble using ATMs in town & we stayed there during weekend, it would have been nice to had front desk be able to give change for $ 50 or allow a cash advance on credit card. We needed smaller amounts for tips.

Terrible customer service. Had an emergency out of my control. Contacted hotel to try to reschedule. They flatly declined and would not oblige. Buyer beware. There are way too many great options in the area with better customer service.

We were welcomed by the reception desk people, they were so friendly. The hotel is directly on the River. Just a short ride to all of the wonderful places to visit here at Victoria Falls. Animals visited every day. The food and accommodations are 5 Star. We were here 3 days, and wish it could have been more. Ask the reception desk for a tour advise.

Loved everything about this hotel - the hotel on the lawn sloping down to the Zambezi River, architecture, ambiance and location. It was very convenient, a short walk to the boats that took us on a sunset river cruise. Food was excellent, the room was spacious, comfortable and with a view out over the grounds and river. Very impressed.

We lost all our luggage on our way here but the hotel was very helpful with toothbrushes etc. This place is fantastic with a free shuttle to the local area (emergency shopping) including the falls or restaurants. The place was so peaceful but we had a river cruise, riverside dining and arranged activities such as helicopter over the falls through the hotel and were visited by warthogs, elephants and hippos. Loved this place and it is a great centre for visiting the falls and surrounding areas. The luggage did get to us before we left.

Wonderful views from your room of the river. Conveniently located not far from town. Breakfast is included with the room rate and the breakfast is decent. My disappointment falls. In fact this is really five star hotel. Much more of a four star. It’s more like a Marriott in the states. Typical for five star hotels would be fresh towels and turn down, complementary bottle, water, and refill, bath robes, perhaps welcome drink. You enter and returned to the property with no acknowledgment, even if you walk by the front desk. The property is newer. There is a decent Jim located on the property. The views of the water are spectacular. Very small, swimming pool and often crowded. The common indoor areas are small. Outdoor is fine. Definitely a nice four-star property. Absolutely not a five star.

This is a nice hotel for its location and the grounds are pretty , but room and service was not good . Our room was cramped , the ac and wi fi didn’t work , and service and food in the restaurant were sub par . It may be the best in the area - but this isn’t a 5 star hotel

Fantastic Property on the Zambezi River which included a great breakfast with mimosas and a wide variety of food options. In addition, there was an afternoon tea which was very simple but a nice touch. The room was lovely and came with a one-time free mini-bar which was great for evening soft drinks or after dinner wine etc. There were also a few different animals around the property, mainly the warthogs which was very cool and made it fun. The pool was a little on the small side, however, you're probably not spending loads of time at the property so it's sufficient for what you would need to have a quick dip. The gift shop is too expensive and some of the prices were missing and when I bought something with a price the team later in the day told me that they were charging me more because they had put the incorrect price on the item which was a little frustrating. The shuttle bus is a fantastic option and is available pretty much on request (for free) which makes it nice and easy getting into town (and back). Easy to grab from the sister property which is pretty much in the heart of town so you're never too far away from transport.

Situated on the banks of the Zambezi river the hotel has all the comforts needed to get away from the heat. Clean rooms with spacious bathrooms. The restaurant is excellent with a good selection of beers, cocktails and SA wines, with a complimentary minibar to have sundowners on your balcony. Outside your room you will find hippos, warthogs, monkeys, mongoose, elephants and array of birdlife. There is a free shuttle service into town which is about 10mins. This is a real special place.

Good breakfast. Caring staff who were pleasant and cordial.
