Great location for our trip, great to be next to a busy marina

Room cleaning was very poor, full dirty bin on arrival to room. Room not cleaned daily. Poor provisioning for tea and coffee in room. Conditioner empty. Car Park full all weekend, so had take risks of parking illegally. Tables outside not cleared of dirty glasses and ashtrays. Bar inside full of dirty glasses. Housekeeping generally very poor.

Breakfast was gorgeous. Plenty of choice both cooked and other food (cereals, fruit etc). The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a balcony room and gave us complimentary drinks tickets as I just happened to mention in conversation that the stay was part of my partner's birthday treat. The quayside location was lovely and just a few minutes walk from the train station.

The location is great and the view from the room was lovely.

The room was quite small, and wasn't super clean (especially the bathroom) which was a shame. The bed sheets also smelled very mouldy when we arrived - but we did ask them to change the sheets and they did. We stayed for 2 nights. The housekeeping did not really clean or even change the towels on the second day. Our friends who were also staying said their bed hadn't even been changed. The bar at the hotel was nice and there was a really friendly bartender. Unfortunately on one occasion I ordered a cocktai from a different barman and noticed that the barman swapped coconut milk for cow's milk.. I don't drink cow's milk so was lucky I spotted it. The barman seemed annoyed at this and did not apologise at all when I mentioned it (he said they were out of coconut milk). I luckily don't have a dairy allergy - but they might want to check in future if they need to change the ingredients in a drink. It's an OK hotel - but definitely not worth the price we paid, especially given the room size, cleanliness and lack of proper housekeeping. I would not stay here again.
