Hyatt Regency Lisbon

The hotel itself is nice, with modern and clean rooms, a good location, and a decent breakfast. Overall, the stay was comfortable. However, the rooftop bar experience was disappointing. The dress code felt quite inconsistent: my girlfriend was not allowed in wearing flip-flops, but when she changed into a different pair of designer sandals, it suddenly was no problem. To then arrive to the rooftop seeing other guests wearing flipflops. I felt like being on candid camera. Later, a DJ started playing reggaeton music (wether you like this style of music for a cocktailbar is subjective) at such a high volume that we could no longer have a normal conversation. I politely asked whether the volume could be lowered a little, but was told this was “not possible.” When I mentioned to the manager that music should add to the atmosphere rather than make it difficult to enjoy a drink, I was again told it was simply “policy.” Such experience does not deserve 5* in my opinion. It is a shame, because the hotel itself has a lot going for it. But for us, the overly strict and inflexible approach at the rooftop bar took away from the experience.

Hyatt helped us last minute get 2 nights that were unplanned because another hotel was not suitable. Service in every department was great and I'd return again if in the area. Accommodation and food were both outstanding. Everyone went beyond the normal expectations,

The hotel itself is beautiful, with comfortable rooms, a pleasant atmosphere, and a great location. The evening cocktails were excellent, and some members of the staff were very professional and friendly.

The service was inconsistent and did not meet our expectations for a five-star hotel. Breakfast was average, the coffee quality was poor, and drinks often had to be actively requested instead of being offered. The biggest disappointment was the rooftop terrace. It is heavily advertised and was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel. However, it was repeatedly unavailable because it was reserved for private events and external guests. We were not even allowed to briefly visit the terrace to take a look. A key feature of the hotel was therefore effectively inaccessible during our stay.

Hyatt Regency is nice inside with very friendly staff who are responsive. The room was clean but HVAC system was challenging to use and water filtration unit was not working. We had a river view but also what looked like an abandoned parking lot next to us. Location not ideal to historic downtown and a bit noisy due to location right beside the train lines.
