Extended Fishermans cottage with stunning sea views

Perfect location - walkable to the shops and bars and right over the road from the beach. Beautiful views across the bay. Lovely little cottage, cosy and warm with good central heating and an electric fire. The kitchen was clean and well kitted out. The upstairs bathroom was clean, decent shower with plenty of hot water. Good size TV, big sofa, arm chair and a table with 4 further chairs. Comfortable beds upstairs. Decent amount of storage, smelt a bit damp in the cupboards but it’s an old cottage! Lovely views from the upstairs double room.

Could have done with a few basics being included such as a washing up cloth or brush and holders for the toilet rolls in both bathrooms. More than one tea towel would also be helpful in the kitchen. Hand soap and a towel in the downstairs WC would make it more usable. We booked for 4 people but only 3 towels and a small hand towel were provided in the upstairs bathroom. The sheet on the fold-out sofa bed had been left on from a previous guest and was definitely not clean (crumbs and stains on it). The truckle bed under the single bed upstairs cannot be pulled out enough to sleep on, as the room is too small (hence needing to use the sofa bed). We arrived late and wanted to have a hot drink and a snack before we went to bed. Unfortunately no milk was provided as most places do. All small things - easily rectified and didn’t hugely affect our stay. Far more positives than negatives.

The property was exactly as described and was perfect for our little/young family of three and would have fit another small child. The location was great, so close to the beach and had amazing views over the bay to wake up to. Very quiet neighbourhood which was close to lovely restaurants. Nice and warm in the property too which was welcome as it rained all weekend! Directions and arrival instructions given by Dale were very clear, thank you.

Parking might have been an issue but we were very lucky with the on street free parking on the main road. We arrived late at night and were fortunate enough to be able to block the road on the hill whilst we unpacked. There was a slight musty odor downstairs that we noticed during our stay. I have a heightened sense of smell due to pregnancy, but my husband also noticed it. We bought a room spray, though we think a plug-in air freshener might help keep the space feeling fresh for future guests.

Easy to access. Great location

Damp in places. Smelt damp in bedroom and wardrobe

All the basics were there - salt and pepper and cafetière and shower gel. Clean and comfortable.

No Olive oil. Small point, everything else was terrific.

A bit cool, even with gas heater, and some evidence of dampness. The downstairs loo was a bit difficult to get into and some undesireable bugs. A bit hard to find even with satnav and a bit difficult to get luggage in and out. Otherwise really excellent.

Really good location, within walking distance of pier shops and restuarants.

Bit more attention needed on cleaning and maintenance, sofa needs replacing .
