Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort & Spa

Do not come to Dreams Cozumel, it is not worth your hard earned money. The customer service is horrible, and the wait time for food is ridiculous just to name a few things.

Served underage child at bar repeatedly, did not deal with situation professionally when my son was sick and intoxicated. Claims to have perimedic on site at all times but took 3 hours to receive medical support. The manager on Christmas eve awful and has poor customer service skills. My husband described him as a small bulldog ready to fight. Left on Christmas day to escape and salvage our trip. The only pool open to families was surprisingly cold and most people did not use, ocean was beautiful. Sunscapes was under construction and the adults only side had 3 massive pools and water slides yet the family side had a smaller pool with little kids play area. Food variety was poor and quality was not great. The rooms were good snacks were not always restocked. The pizzeria had the best pizza we have ever had. The staff was generally kind and welcoming. Just poorly coordinated on who to talk with when there were issues. Usually a very easy going traveler but this place left a poor taste in my mouth and our 2025 Christmas was a right off.

Great hotel to stay at but don't expect good food apart from the omelets and the coffee shop serving nice Cappuccinos. Beautiful rooms, great access to the beach, fantastic snorkeling, stunning scenery, nice spa. The plancha guy at the breakfast served good omelets.

The food was quite average and disappointing - very much canteen food at the Buffet, particularly awful in the desserts section. The restaurant above was a bit better but not great. Food can certainly be improved. Went for the Ironman race and the night before outside my room was a fire show with what seems like techno music extremely loud and with the loud base...was impossible to sleep until very late.

This was one of the worst all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at. Dreams & Secrets Cozumel is not a luxury experience, despite how it’s marketed. We were immediately subjected to aggressive vacation club sales pressure at check-in and prevented from going to our room after a long travel day. Dining was consistently frustrating—long waits, missing food, empty buffet stations, and poor communication. On one afternoon, the buffet had almost no food available at all. The most upsetting incident occurred at the Preferred Pool, which we paid extra to access. A staff member publicly accused us of not being Preferred guests and caused an embarrassing scene in front of others. Management promised follow-up that never happened. We also spent hundreds extra on wine and special dinners, including paying to avoid Christmas buffet lines, yet received no added value. Even redeeming our Preferred coupons at checkout turned into a hassle. While a few employees were kind, the resort overall felt poorly managed and understaffed. We met other guests from the U.S. and Canada who shared the same complaints. This resort ruined our vacation. Save your money and go elsewhere

As a platinum UVC member, I want to compliment how professional and attentive Alonso was. Everywhere we go, they want us to review our account - and I know that means they want us to pay thousands of dollars for an upgrade to diamond level. We won’t do that bcuz we’re happy with what we have. Alonzo respected that and treated us very well. Also, Carlos - the tepanyaki chef at Gohan was one of the very best I’ve ever seen and had a great way about him with all the guests. Armando at Olio Restaurant was very helpful and we became friends. He is good at what he does and takes very good are of his guests. He was impressed with my Ray Ban sunglasses - so I gave them to him as a gift.

We're here now. The working staff in general is great. The food at the buffets is cold and bland with limited selection and the same everyday. The Alla cart is very limited selection that never changes. Beef in particular, in any form looks and tastes like boiled meat with spices thrown in. What 4 star hotel in the Caribbean gives you paper salt and pepper packets like McDonalds, in the Alla Cart. If you have issues that need attention......well best of luck. Everyone will be happy to send you looking somewhere else until you get tired and give up. If you ask three different staff for information you will get three different answers. The Entertainment team must Hide out at Secrets, because they are no where to be found here so there are no group activities. Oh, and Hobby cats are available but they have no sails. Came back to the room to get ready for dinner.......no towels.

Still amazing location and service, however since Hyatt has purchased the property the food items and recent demolition of sunscapes next door have taken away some of the allure! ( you can hear Jack hammers in your room at times and at the beach and the food is no longer what it once was for dinner)! I have visited this property 3 consecutive years annual and has been one of my favorite places. However all else constant the dinner food items and restaurants have really declined in quality and flavor! While the atmosphere and service is still exceptional! Would go again but I hope they return to culinary flavors and menu items regulars visiting over the past several years, especially for dinner! Also many of the restaurants are closed making it difficult to get a table unless you pay for $100 bottle of wine to be seated immediately and I’m a preferred member. So it was not what I had been accustomed to over the past visits ! Eric

Dreams is a beautiful place, the rooms are clean and beautiful. Ocean view room that we had was amazing. The beach is clean, and staff are very helpful. As a couple, we would return to Secrets next door, as it was quieter and had no kids, and the other guests were closer to our age, and we met more people there that spoke English, and we prefered the restaurants there. The Spa at Secrets is top-notch and worth a visit.

Overall we had a great stay. Our group of six couples take an annual vacation and while this is not an adult only resort, if you book a Preferred room, you have access to Secrets which is adult only. The resort was clean, well laid out and the Ocean View Swim out rooms are phenomenal (right on the beach)! Special recognition goes to Roxana our UVC resentative, the food & beverage team for coordinating group dinners and Felipe and Miguel at Sugar Reef for outstanding service throughout the week.

Dreams is a nice non smoking hotel with a great beach and view steps from your room. Its a very low key relaxing resort and better for adults or families that dont require a lot of amentities. The buffett is just ok and fine for cook to order eggs and fruit but very small. Its very safe to snorkel and swim and see some fish and structures close to the concrete dock. Pretty much expect to go to dinner at opening or have a long wait since there are no reservations. The pizza place and Bordeaux were our favorite. Staff are very attentive.
