Courtyard by Marriott Exeter Sandy Park

Our ‘Superior’ room was a good size and nicely furnished. However, two things let it down.

The room was classed as ‘Accessible’, meaning the bathroom was kitted out with all kinds of grab handles, seats etc and the wardrobe contained a mechanism that allowed a wheelchair user to pull down the hanging rail. Unfortunately this left the bathroom feeling more like a medical facility than a premium space and the wardrobe couldn’t accommodate a full length dress. We paid extra for a premium room but these two issues diluted that experience - we would not return.

The room was very spacious, and the bed was super large and comfy. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Ample parking. The rooftop restaurant and bar had amazing views.

Everything was perfect.

Fantastic view ! The top floor restaurant has amazing views, good menu, the bar has live music, rooms are modern and comfortable , staff super friendly. I liked the location, near David Lloyds, and the ease of parking.

Liked everything about it

The location good for our onward journey although this was disrupted by a visitor to the hotel damaging my car in the car park. Unfortunately, the staff were unable to offer any real help as the car park falls outside the hotel's responsibility. Thankfully, the local police located the owner of the vehicle causing the accident. The room was very clean and tidy and the reception staff very observant about exiting the lifts. The Breakfast was fine apart from the absence of Porridge in the Cereals selection.

Parking n location

Parking was excellent, bed and pillows extremely comfortable, modern and well furnished with good privacy when in rooms (no outside noise from hallways or other rooms)

No PowerPoint near large mirror for using hairdryer- only in cupboard and made using very difficult

Stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights 5th and 6th June on a coach trip with Parry's international tours. First impression of the Hotel was good ,modern and very clean but the air conditioning in our room was permanently on resulting in the room being freezing cold. Informed reception twice as did other guests who had the same problem and was told maintenance would have a look at it but they never did. As a result we had to wear our coats when we were in the room which was just ridiculous. Nothing at all was done, no offer of a heater or change of room, really bad customer service. At breakfast on the second day when we gave our room number the member of staff queried if we were sure we had paid for breakfast and said he couldn't find us. We were glad we were only here for 2 nights and relieved to get home.

Very clean, bright and modern

Why on earth did they put a see through obscure glass wall partition for the bathroom so that anyone sitting on the toilet or having a shower had absolutely no privacy whatsoever. If you sat on the toilet then the person you were sharing the room with could easily see you sitting on the toilet or having a shower. Absolutely stupid.
