The Stirling Arms

The staff were standing in for somebody who usually manages the rooms but was off sick. They were all really friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very modern in decor, warm and comfortable. Loved having a meal in the pub on our second night. Really lovely food and cosy surroundings.

The fire escape entrance wasn’t great and the gate was really stiff but it didn’t impact our stay. We didn’t get milks and toilet tissue replenished for the second night of our stay but since we were aware of the circumstances regarding the staff absence we went and sought out extras.

I thought the room was a bit pricey for what it was but it was perfectly comfortable. No breakfast was available.

Location great, walking distance to the centre of Hove and to the station. Clean, comfy, friendly…..nothing to fault!

Breakfast would have been good but I appreciate that it’s a pub and doesn’t open before 11 which is checkout time, and fair enough!

Separate access from the pub. Lovely warm bedroom and jested towel rail in the bathroom. Music from the pub wasn’t too loud or go on too late. Optional to eat in the pub, food looked great and good value. Didn’t try it as visiting family and ate with them. Have stayed here before and would definately do so again.

Nothing not to like. Perfect for short stays.

Only one bedside lamp.

The room was very quiet, no doubt thanks to the extra soundproofing. It was also very cosy, due to the central heating which was controlled by thermostat on the radiator. Bed very comfortable. Shower was powerful. Plenty of hot water. Ideal location and close to many eateries, etc. The Stirling is a lovely pub. I haven't been a pub person, but this is a very warm, cosy and laid back establishment and very reminiscent of a country pub. Staff very welcoming. We'll definitely be staying again!

Not much! If I were to be really pedantic, it would've been nice if the bathroom radiator worked.

Very nice room, clean and quiet! To be offered both still and sparkling water in bottles was very generous and made me happy. The bathroom was also very nice and the shower perfect!
