Perfect for Auroras but not far from town. They have a restaurant up the hill by the ski lift.

Very nice and cosy cabin in Lapland, staff easy to communicate with via Whatsapp, quick to respond, very on time for requested transfers

Airport transfer quite pricey, free transfers available only until 5pm

Amazing stay, everything was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and handled all our requests immediately. The snow suit I rented from the resort was fantastic as well. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely come back. Thank you.

"Nice idea, but poor value for money compared to other local stays."

4.0

The chalet was clean and the hosts were genuinely kind and friendly throughout our stay. They clearly cared and made a real effort with personal touches – like knocking on our door to let us know when the aurora were visible, which we really appreciated. The breakfast delivered to the room was beautifully fresh and tasty. The private hot tub was a lovely luxury and we were also given access to an empty chalet after checkout so we could get changed before our flight, which was really helpful. The free shuttle into the village was a great perk and worked well most of the time.

Sadly, we were left quite disappointed by the overall experience – especially considering this was the most expensive place we stayed during our trip to Saariselkä. We had arranged a lift from our previous accommodation, which the hosts kindly offered, but they stopped responding to our messages and didn’t show up. We ended up having to get a taxi at the last minute. There was no fridge in the chalet, and we were told to leave things outside – but it was -25°C, so our food (like ham and cheese) froze solid. In a place like this, where people are likely to bring wine and nibbles to enjoy in the hot tub, a fridge really should be a standard feature. There was also a huge lack of storage space – especially for outerwear, which is essential in Arctic conditions. Only two hooks in the chalet (both broken), barely any space in the bathroom, and no shelves for toiletries. The bathroom had a wet-room style shower that didn’t drain well, so the floor stayed soaking wet for hours, meaning we had to put boots on just to use the toilet. The conditioner bottle was completely empty, and housekeeping knocked even after I’d let them know I was unwell and staying in all day. Finally, we felt the views were misrepresented. The photos suggested scenic surroundings, but our chalet looked out onto a row of other chalets, and the ceiling window was partially obstructed by road and streetlights – not ideal for viewing the Northern Lights from bed. Overall, it just didn’t feel worth the high price, especially when compared to the more thoughtfully designed and more enjoyable experience we had at the Northern Lights Village.

"Fake Website Pictures, False Commitments and Unsafe Activity Planning with Zero Accountability"

2.0

I generally don’t post negative reviews, but this experience left me concerned enough to share, especially for others considering this property. 1. Unsafe Location for Activities Due to Poor Planning: A major issue we faced was with one of the tours organized by the property. The journey involved crossing a narrow bridge over a flowing river and walking down an extremely slippery path. What made it more concerning was that the guide accompanying us was unfamiliar with the location and was simply following directions provided by her manager. This lack of knowledge and preparation made an already unsafe path even more risky. It was clear that the location had not been properly assessed for guest safety. 2. Poor Execution of the Tour: While the scenery was undeniably beautiful, the conditions – especially the lack of snow and extreme slipperiness – made it unsuitable for a guided outing. It felt like the tour had not been properly vetted or planned, and the decision to proceed with it was poorly thought out. 3. Misleading Information about the Harmony Suite: We had booked two Harmony Suites based on the details and images shared with us, which showed amenities like a fireplace. However, this wasnt present in our suites. These features were important to us and played a role in our decision to book, so we were disappointed to find them missing upon arrival. It left us feeling misled and dissatisfied. While there were some positives, the safety concerns and lack of transparency really overshadowed the experience. Highly recommend people to explore alternative properties in this area and avoid the Aurora Collection.
