The Sawai Bagh

We stayed in a tent room which felt unique and had character. The showers were good. The property was large and spacious and relatively peaceful apart from the (often very loud) traffic noises from outside.

The stay overall was terribly disappointing. There were many misleading factors, such as the extensive menu of which a majority of options were perpetually unavailable (so it was basically a fake menu), the advertised spa which was non-existent, and the proximity to Ranthambhore national park but the hotel staff not only were clueless about tiger safaris, but provided serious misinformation about it. The pool is nowhere near as grand or as much of a central feature of the property as the photos might suggest- it's pretty ordinary. The security guards/hotel staff were unnecessarily rude to our driver. The food (the limited options that were available) was devoid of flavour and quality was consistently sub-par. Morning coffee couldn't have been any more basic/ridiculous. There was no place nearby where alternate food/beverages could be obtained, and there was hardly anything to do on the hotel premises or in the surrounding areas. We felt trapped on site and although we'd booked a two night stay, ended up leaving the morning after our first night there, because it felt unbearable to stay there any longer. The property is advertised as a luxury resort, but it is not remotely luxurious. I'd advise against staying here.

The property is good and the pool is clean. There is a garden area where kids can play. The rooms are quite spacious.

Food is average. Not for health-conscious people as the curries were full of too much oil. I found pasta and paneer curries orangish and wondered if any food colour had been added. The most surprising part is that they don't provide any room service. Since I was with the toddler, I requested milk and food items in the room. Sometimes they delivered, sometimes they did not. The staff is not very hospitable I would say.
