The location was amazing!! It felt so secluded and reflective of the wildness we were hoping to feel on the outskirts of the national park. The glamping tent exceeded all expectations and was spotlessly clean with a sparkling pool out front ! Restaurant and drinks were equally as wonderful - staff were absolutely beautiful and so accommodating!!

We loved the breakfast and our room was lovely. The safari we booked through Tribe was amazing, our guide was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and we really loved our full-day safari experience with him. They also set up an amazing lunch for us, which was a great touch.

This has been really hard to write because although the property itself was lovely and our safari day was amazing, Tribe didn’t meet our expectations, which was such a shame. There was a lot of miscommunication throughout our stay and we often felt quite abandoned. There was rarely anyone around to help or answer questions, and we weren’t told about the treetop shown in the photos, we had to ask about it ourselves. There was also no sunset cocktails experience or anything similar offered, despite this being advertised in the images. I agree with a previous review that there is no communal space to congregate or speak with other guests about the safari experience. One particularly confusing interaction was receiving a WhatsApp message asking us to confirm our dinner order ASAP around 6pm, which made us panic that we were about to miss dinner. When we went to the table at 6pm, we were told dinner wasn’t until 7:30pm, leaving us confused as to why our order was needed so urgently. It was a very bizarre interaction. Another important thing to note is that we stayed over New Year’s Eve, when a BBQ buffet was provided. There was no mention of pricing at all, and we presumed it was included in our stay due to no mention of price. Upon checkout the next day, we were charged USD $40 per person. Not only is this very expensive, but not being consulted about the cost beforehand was extremely disappointing. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, especially as this was the stay I was most looking forward to during our Sri Lanka trip, but unfortunately the service really tainted the experience. Considering the price of Tribe, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

By the time we reached Yala, we were a bit "safaried" out. We had already seen so many that all we wanted to do was relax at this point. Tribe Yala was perfect for this. A private plunge pool in the wilderness was just what the holiday called for at this point. Dinner was outside under the stars and we had breakfast one morning up in one of their treehouses overlooking the jungle. It was amazing. The room was large, fully stocked, great internet and a large bathroom which feel partially inside and outside amongst nature. The road into the camp is rough, so the team meats you off the main road and assist with luggage and transfer. This is part of the adventure and fun.

Everything was perfect, but I would say that the price is a bit steep. We paid around €1000 for 2 nights which we of course knew before arriving, so no complaints.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and super accommodating throughout our stay. They made a very big effort to ensure that my wife and I had an amazing honeymoon and even booked a candle lit dinner for the two of us and gave us a lovely cake! They also helped sort out our safari very easily and made sure that we were able to meet our driver so that we could carry on our travels

Das Zelt war toll und das Baumhaus zum Frühstücken ebenfalls. Hervorragendes Personal über Empfang , Küche , ein toller Safari - Driver und ein richtig guter Ranger für uns alleine ! Nationalpark Karten wurden vorab bestellt , sodass wir morgens an der langen Schlange vorbei fahren konnten - perfekt ! Frühstück und Abendessen waren toll !!!

Very friendly staff. We stayed in the Tusker tent which was very large: 1 king bed and 2 double beds. The room itself is probably in need of a refurbish soon. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel was very good. We did a full day safari which was probably a bit much with young kids - we should probably have done a half day tour.

There were plenty of things to like about the property: (1) It's right at the edge of the forest area where animals and humans co-exist. You get the full jungle vibe. (2) The location is very convenient for the wildlife safari and you can rent your safari vehicle right at your hotel. (3) The staff are all very nice and willing to help and generally humble people.

Some of the things could be improved: (1) The water pressure in the bathroom and the heating is very inadequate. We had to shower mostly with cold water. (2) The tent itself is very dark with no real sunlight filtering in. The room lights are not adequate. We had frequent power cuts and the electric meter tripped on one occasion that had to be repaired. (3) The food menu is extremely limited and you need to order much in advance for it to be prepared. Most of the interaction is with WhatsApp and there was hardly ever any staff at the reception desk. (4) Whilst most needs are catered by the tent, it's by no way a 5 star accommodation though is priced like one. We have stayed at safari tents previously in India and Africa that were truly 5 star. I would rate this as a 3 star. (5) The most important point is that whilst the activity list mentions walking tour, they don't provide one. So the only activity possible whilst at the hotel is the safari and there is absolultely nothing else to do unless you decide to visit the local town. I would highly recommend making this a one night stay rather than a two night stay. We were itching to get out by the time we finished our stay. It can get very dark and depressing in the room for the children as there is nothing else to do. You cannot walk and venture out by yourself as your are in the midst of a jungle and walking tours are not offered by the hotel staff. (6) We had rats, lizards all roaming freely in the room. I understand this is the middle of a jungle but a 5 star stay doesn't come with that. One word about Yala itself - the wildlife is extremely limited and the wagons mostly are leopard chasers. It gets very tiring for a safari here to only focus on one animal. You have to pay extra for the safari and it's not cheap for foreign nationals.
