Aruma Ha

The cleaning staff were so lovely. I did a lot of research at other places and was relieved to have no issues with mosquitoes, scorpions, air conditioning or general cleanliness as that seems very common in other places in Holbox. The room was bright, sunny and a lovely place to be. It also felt very safe. Bear in mind it's not a long walk from the beach, but in the midday heat with so little shade on the island it felt like a lot.

Sun chairs next to the pool would be good. Two things went wrong during my stay: safe didn't work (took 3 days to sort and I had to follow up a lot of times) and the water cut out in the area (out of their control to a degree, but the staff did not follow up to check it was working in our rooms. We went an entire day with no running water - my understanding is this sometimes happens on the island). I found a very large upturned bug in the shower one morning, which confused me because the door had been closed all night - I eventually figured out that it had fallen from the ceiling as there is a gap in the wooden panels around the area it had fallen. Again, not the staff's fault but I would suggest they seal that gap (room 1) - I felt bad for the bug as it died from the fall. A chair in the bedroom or decking would have been perfect!

Staff pleasant and helpful

The hotel was very cosy and garden and pool were really nice with hammocks etc.

Great find a little outside of centro. Accommodating and friendly staff. Clean and large rooms. Good AC, nice balcony and hammock.

Loved the room! Super nice, lovely veranda with your own hammock, nice swimming pool, fantastic staff who were really helpful and kind. Only downside is the state of the road outside and building going on, plus it's a little out of the way, but Holbox is small so nothing is too far. Loved the room, bathroom, hammock - very private and calming.

The accommodation is brand new, it is very clean and we appreciated the attention to details : shampoo and soap, lines in the bathroom to dry clothes and bikinis, unlimited water and a water bottle in the room. The host is very nice and helpful, she gave us tips for restaurants and could organise tours for us. We would definitely come back here. The open kitchen allows you to cook and save some money which was great for us.

nice sized room, comfy bed, nice shower, very helpful staff. kitchen facilities and fridge.

too far out and lots of pools of water. bitten by lots of mosquitoes, 4 cockroaches in bathroom from the shower. curtains not black out and you could see the light coming in.
