Eastwind Hotel Lake Placid

The rooms are nicely thought out with contemporary decor. The staff is friendly, helpful and personally attentive. I appreciate the non-traditional layout of the landscape and rooms. Parking is easy. The size of the East Wind is modest in comparison to the huge resorts in town that are either characterless or super expensive.

The sauna was difficult to use and never really got hot enough. I wouldn’t say my bed was uncomfortable but it wasn’t super comfortable - it could have been much worse. A shoe mat or something inside the room would be good to collect snow.

We stayed in a villa, and it was absolutely fabulous—perfectly cozy for two people, with a great vibe and ambiance. We would definitely love to return. The staff was incredibly helpful, and we want to give a huge shout-out to one of the help desk attendants (I unfortunately forgot her name) who was so kind and made our stay feel like home. We also did a cookie decorating activity, which was such a fun and memorable experience. Still, it was worth checking out and added to the overall experience. Overall, a fantastic stay!

We tried the sauna during our stay, but unfortunately, the temperature didn’t get as high as expected, so we couldn’t fully experience the real sauna vibe.

The staff welcomed us with enthusiasm and they gave us multiple recommendation on the best activities to do around or food to try. The location is perfect if you like a quiet corner of paradise. Whiteface mountain is at 15 min drive and is incredibile to ski. Lake placid downtown is at 5 min drive and is just incredible. The hotel is clean and organised. The sauna is the perfect end of the day treat that any skier deserves. Everything was just perfect! We will come back during the summer. Love Elisa
