Eastwind Hotel Lake Placid

Check in / out was a breeze. Very cute property / room. Staff, very friendly and helpful. Small things like the sauna, smores package, nightly fire, games, hammocks and bicycles added to its charm. Close to the main strip in Lake Placid but, far enough out to have some peace and relax. Room / bed were clean. Bed was comfortable. Received messages throughout our stay asking if we needed anything etc.

If the property is full, the parking area can get tight. The following are very small nitpicks, wasn’t an issue to us but might be useful to others. The stairs (cubby holes) leading up to the loft took being careful but, we knew that beforehand. Bathroom doesn’t have a 100% closing door, more a swing glass door that leaves a small space when closed. It’s nice, wasn’t an issue for us but, if you look for privacy in the bathroom it could be an issue for you. No trash can other than a small one under the bathroom sink (there is a trash can outside the office). Our back deck had a large bush blocking any sort of view but, did provide privacy.

The view was beautiful. The aesthetics of the room and property were enjoyable. The staff was friendly and welcoming and there were free s’mores and bikes provided as well as trail guidance for biking.

Parking on property is VERY tight. There were several setbacks in the King Suite Champlain that prevented me from giving a better rating for this property. The sink and shower drains backed up. The shower when backed up, floods onto the floor due to the design. The bathroom door doesn’t latch fully, so it pops open after it’s closed. There wasn’t a way to deadbolt the main door to the room. There’s what looks like a small lock, but it didn’t turn to allow me to lock it. The big window on the side has sheer curtains, but not blackout that will provide full privacy if the lights are on in your room at night. The only garbage can in the room is the small one in the bathroom. A TV would be nice for background noise to fall asleep to.

WAs very cosy and a nice set up.

The shower water in our room was not hot and the bathroom was very cold. Maybe get a small area rug in for the winter months. The kettle needs a stand near an outlet in order to use.

Always a great place to stay. My go to when in Lake Placid.
