"Terrible conditions, no follow through with requests, and they charged full price, disgusting."

The place was under renovations. The room they gave me had a huge amount of mould in the shower and was not appropriate for any person. The second room had been renovated. There was a half see through lace covering on the window that had mould on it. They put up the same one again the next day, which had been washed.There was no curtain; outside there were workmen coming and going all the time, They could see straight into the room. I requested a curtain, the receptionist said it would be put up the following day, but there was no follow through. They just did not care at all. There was no bedside table either side or even a shelf, just bare walls, and this was the renovated room.

"I choose this hotel for its location and price, ease of check in and helpful staff."

There is no breakfast in this hotel! Bed was comfy. Rooms felt like enough space Staff are kind and helpful always. It’s easy to book in and they helped carry my bag up or down the difficult staircases. The hotel is very near Richmond station.

Many windows brown or cracked with no handles or broken handles. Stair carpet is very old now. A new building is going up next door/ across the road. It’s very very noisy.

Rooms have just been refurbished which were to a nice clean standard.

Refurbishment is still going on. Our room was in the basement and carpets on the stairs were uneven and a trip hazard. Also our room had cups, coffee sachets with no kettle. When asking reception then we're unable to find a kettle, therefore didn't have one for the 2 night stay we had and did not follow up on our request

"Great Location, Shockingly Poor Cleanliness"

Well, the staff was nice and helpful

My Superior Room was genuinely disappointing. I almost wished my eyesight wasn’t quite so good! I’m fine with shabby furniture and dated lampshades – for the price, that’s to be expected. But broken window handles? No curtain in the bathroom, with water splashing everywhere? That’s not acceptable. What really shocked me was the lack of cleanliness. It felt as though the room had never been professionally cleaned. There was thick dust on the skirting boards, in every corner, on lampshades and radiators. The sink was unpleasant – the plug had clearly never been cleaned and was covered in old toothpaste. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. Proper cleaning isn’t difficult or expensive, is it? This is the UK – surely there should be some basic standards. Yes, the location is good, and it’s obvious the owners rely on that rather than investing in the property. But regardless of location, cleanliness and basic convenience should be non‑negotiable.
