TOA Hotel & Spa Zanzibar

Just come back from Zanzibar we enjoyed a lot our stay at Toa Hotel and Spa. Personal and service was great. Room was clean and comfortable. Food and cocktails were delicious. Hotel also offered evening entertainment.

The honeymoon suite with private plunge pool was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a large bathroom and shower area. The room was beach front with a small shaded terrace. The food was mixed. Sometimes good and other no so good. Unfortunately we got food poisoning whilst there which ruined the last couple of days stay there.

OMG!!! I cannot reccommend TOA enough! From the moment we landed to the moment we were droped back off at the airport, everything was perfect!!! First off the staff here, literally every single one of them, were all amazing!!! Second the food..... I still think about the food from here everyday! I miss the food from here so much! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and had the all inclusive package here, and we both agreed that we have never stayed at any all inclusive resort that had great drinks, and actually delicious food! The food was so fresh and delicious, they had outdoor dinners, and live stations, and there was this one sauce I fell in love with and needed for every meal after I found it, and they had the chef bring me bowls of it from the kitchen even when it wasnt being served! In the mornings the tide is low so the beach is far out and there is a lot of seaweed making it not really swimmable, but around 2pm when high tide comes back it is so beautiful! If you want to swim more in the beach I would suggest staying around Nungwi, but we didn't mind it as the pool on the property and our rooms private hot tub on the balcony were amazing!!! I have to come back to zanzibar, and when I do there is no where else I would want to stay, but here!!! We also got massages the day we got there, which consisted of an African body scrub, shower, massage, and facial, and it was so amazing we had to go again on our last day! I'd say we definitely splurged on our trip here for our honeymoon, but it was worth every penny! Did I mention I miss the food here!

We had a good time. The place is quiet, organized, clean and spacious rooms good service, and the pool bar is an excellent place 👌. The meals and evenings are intimate and entertaining. It is worth the value for money paid.

I have taken my parents within the trip to Zanzibar. I have chosen TOA Hotel & SPA as a place of staying and it was a bull's eye. I could summarize our stay in one word - EXCELLENT. The quality of food, cleaneles of the rooms, quality of service. Everything was on a TOP level. Toa is truly the best getaway for family, friends or even couples. The staff is dedicated to making the stay as hospitable as possible. A special shout out to Dickson at the bar area and Ms.Esther. I'm definitely going back there!

A delightful weekend retreat at Toa Resort. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and a clean well equipped room was my highlight. The staff truly went above and beyond, from the efficient check-in to providing detailed service. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming.

We visited pongwe beach with a few friends from nungwi and ended up at spending the day at Toa Hotel. We had a great experience thanks to Ester who accomodated for us a place at the beach for 20$ per person. The 20$ were redeemable in drinks and food. We also attended the aquagym class with Mister Coco which was super fun! The place was great and Everyone was super friendly, however for the food served at the beach could be improved with more local and quality food.

This Hotel is beautifully designed with modern and ecofriendly finishes. Staff were very helpful, good service. We took an all inclusive package, but the variety of drinks are limited. The location is on the beachfront and you get to experience Zanibar's low tide.

Due to the location being on the beachfront, safety is an issue. You have to be vigilant of your surroundings and ensure that all doors and windows to your room are locked. There are villages just outside of the property. A lot of locals on the beach, who try to sell you tours etc and can be annoying when you decline their offers. Wifi and network signal on the property is poor. The food is average and limited for a 5 star hotel. The beach is'nt good for swimming and there is a stench around the hotel area.
