ENTIRE Lovely Scottish Cottage

Was supposed to stay for 4 nights but only stayed 2. Place was dirty and not described correctly. It’s a flat not a cottage

The property is located near the centre of town.

It’s been very well photographed. It’s certainly not as nice in real life, it’s rather run down and gloomy in real life. We struggled to get hot water and the property agent didn’t know how to sort that out despite even receding a home visit to help…. Useless. The property is certainly NOT LUXURIOUS OR A COTTAGE. It’s a ground floor stingy flat. Over rated and over priced.

All you need for a quite get away.

Suited our needs perfectly. Old building but very modern. Had every thing we needed for a short stay. We were very impressed with the TV having on demand etc.

Everything was satisfactory.

It was my second time staying here. I am currently studying and I come through every 3 months from Dubai to do my practical sessions. I love this place, it has everything I need plus a few extras. Including the heaters, which I really need!A huge plus is the washing machine as I do a lot of running and frequently have clothes to wash. Tea, coffee, cereal, washing up goods are all provided, which is a huge help. As the area is quite old and historic, I like the modern and colourful touches. The location is great as it's about a 10 minute walk into the center of Selkirk.

I have to keep the curtains closed as there is a school across the road and stairs right outside the bedroom window. But doesn't bother me much as I'm out most of the day.

Overall, the appartment (it's not a cottage) was extremely disappointing. Decor and some fixtures and fittings not up to an acceptable standard, flat had a musty smell and the garden (front and back) was a disgrace

It was a great wee property with absolutely everything that you would need for your stay.

Accommodation met my expectations. Good accessibility to visit Edinburgh.

The location The neighbours were nice ,friendly and quiet Double bed was comfortable

When we first arrived it looked nice (apart from the garden) we quickly realised that the flat needs a total refurbishment to justify the cost Dishes and cutlery were dirty No where to lay wet crockery and cutlery before drying Kitchen sink taps move round when turning on and filling the kettle is difficult Sheets need replaced The bedroom door is a joke No directory for using the facilities e.g. it was trial and error when trying to switch the shower on. Bedroom window is difficult to close - had to stand on a chair Size and room wise it is not a very good flat for two people. Single occupancy? Garden is overgrown and untidy Bed I questioned why I needed to provide so much personal info. Haven’t been asked for so much personal info for other Booking. Com properties in the past. I was concerned about the last minute entry info - key code was provided an hour before entry time.

THE LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY IS GREAT FOR EXPLORING THE NORTHUMBERLAND COAST AND ALSO THE BOARDERS OF SCOTLAND. THE TRAIN FROM GALASHIELS TO EDINBURGH TAKES 1 HOUR TOO. THE PROPERTY WAS CLEAN AND WELL PRESENTED. WE HAD A SMALL PROBLEM WITH THE SINK IN THE KITCHEN (WOULD NOT DRAIN) THE PROPERTY ACTED ON THIS STRAIGHT AWAY AND GOT THE PROBLEM SORTED. WE HAD A GREAT STAY!

A WASHING UP BOWL WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE BELFAST SINK AND THERE IS NO DRAING BOARD WHICH MAKES WASHING UP A LITTLE DIFFICULT.
