Service has improved since the last visit and the location and amenities are great. However, in high season it’s extremely disappointing that only two restaurants are available for a hotel of this size, one of which can be considered as fine dining. In our last two visits casual dining was an option at Bamboleo which is great for casual dining with kids and now this closes the kitchen at 18:30. This only leaves room service as an option if you wish to grab a light bite. Would be appreciated if the reception staff inform you of this at check-in.

Our stay at la Zambra was great. The breakfast was excellent. The view into the golf course and the scene of an Andalusian village was breathtaking. We appreciated to have access to Reception through Whatsapp by which all our needs were promptly answered to, and finding our bed made ready for sleep. The hotel is beautiful and invites for relaxation. Antonio took excellent care of us and Carlos at Reception was very professional but also personal. Diego and Sandra at Palmito went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time at dinner, together with Marta, Virginia and Adrian. Mirella and Fran made sure all our needs were met at breakfast. Nevertheless we did notice that some of the staff was not as polite as we would expect in a 5 star hotel, however these were very few. We had a very early departure and they made sure to have a picnic box ready for us. The spa service was the cherry on top with Asunción. We are looking forward to being back soon.

We stayed at La Zambra recently and, unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the high expectations set by the hotel’s branding or price point. From the start, there was confusion at check-in and we were charged for a second room we never used, despite making it clear we only needed one. The issue was never properly resolved and communication from staff was poor throughout. The room we did stay in wasn’t cleaned to an acceptable standard, with visible dust and a general sense it hadn’t been freshly prepared. A few things in the room weren’t working properly either, which added to the frustration. What surprised us most was the lack of complimentary water refills — we were told we had to buy bottled water from the bar, which seems unreasonable for a resort in this category. Small things like that made the stay feel far below the level of service you’d expect from a five-star property. We’ve followed up with the hotel directly but received no proper resolution so far. Overall, a disappointing experience that didn’t reflect the premium pricing.

Mooi en goed onderhouden resort, met prachtige spa en prima gym. Drie zwembaden met genoeg plaats voor iedereen. Kamers zijn smaakvol ingericht, ruim genoeg, goed ontbijt. Wel belangrijk om een eigen (huur)auto te hebben, het ligt vrij afgelegen. Marbella ligt op ca 35 minuten rijden, al dan niet naar keuze via tolweg.

This was our second time back to La Zambra and we just absolutely love it. Last year we stayed there just before our wedding in Mijas and we returned this year for our first wedding anniversary. We really can’t fault la Zambra the staff on arrival were so helpful and throughout the course of the time we spent there. The food in the Picador restaurant is really excellent and would highly recommend dining there when staying in the hotel. There is never issues with sun-lounge access which allows for a relaxing stay. The breakfast is one of the best we have ever had and the selection they provide is sublime. This is an awesome hotel/resort. Really chilled and a truly 5 star experience. Pools are great. Pool areas have amazing views over mijas golf course, all staff are really friendly and provide the best service. No early rush for sunbeds - you can get a great spot anytime, and they're top quality for comfort. A number of nice restaurants and bars with one exceptional restaurant. Good gym. Everything great. Highly recommend. Lots of good golf courses nearby, with mijas 1 minute away with a shuttle service!

Hotel is beautiful, interiors are well thought out and it feels very luxury and everywhere is super clean. Facilities are great, spa is lovely, gym has a really good selection of equipment for a hotel gym. Check in and out was seamless, staff were really lovely and super welcoming. Location is great for a quiet, laid back break. About €15 in a taxi to Mijas which is definitely worth a visit and the hotel were really helpful in ordering local taxis to the hotel for you Hotel restaurants and bars were all lovely. Picador is absolutely brilliant and well worth a reservation. Hotel bar at night is lovely, staff were really nice! My only criticism is poolside service, if you got up to go to the bar yourself you were told to sit down but then there weren’t enough day time staff to take orders and serve drinks. There were instances where we waited over an hour for water. You press a button on the table to call staff but you don’t know if it’s worked or if you are just being ignored as there aren’t enough staff. It’s a real shame as all the staff work really hard and it’s absolutely more of a management issue than the team themselves as they are all really nice people and really friendly. At other similar 5 star resorts in Andalusia they have way more staff to guest ratio meaning service feels more lux. Or just let guests get up and order themselves, no one minds!
