Banana House and Wellness Centre

Our room was facing the road, which made it noisy. There was a fan, but the ventilation in the room was not good, and it was very hot at night, so we were not able to sleep well. The Swahili dinner in the garden was great, but unfortunately there were too many mosquitoes. Breakfast was nice but we had ordered it one day in advance and it was not prepared on time. Since we had booked a morning activity, this caused some stress.

The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. Slept like a baby. Clean place. The Swahili dinner had excellent authentic set up I liked that you can have breakfast set up right outside your room.

Beautiful, well designed, nice pool, good food, friendly staff. And close to Lamu town, the historical jewel of Kenya.

Need to put cabro stones on the path to the hotel.

Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend gewesen. Wir wurden herzlich mit Getränken empfangen und die Rezeption organisierte für uns Henna-Tattoos und einen Ausflug zu den Sanddünen. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Danke für alles.

The included breakfast is a bit small/limited for this kind of place.

It has big rooms, beautifully decorated with flowers when you come, bar, restaurant, pool and amazing service especially when it comes to booking activities and boat transfers. Its close by local boutiques, cafees and restaurants. Helpfull staff. There are mosquito nets and a lot of different lounges/seating areas around the property.

There really isnt anything do actively dislike. The rooms have bolt locks and it has to be loocked for the door to close. No aircon, the room had a ceiling fan and a standing fan. This was no problem for my group. The temp during the day was 25-30 celsius, but some people would insist on aircon due to an inability to adapt to a tropical climate

Great location close to the beach front. Breakfast is generally good. Swahili Dinner was lovely.

We stayed in the penthouse which was rather far too open. We had bats fly into the space with the 2nd bed every night which made it very difficult to sleep. We also saw some mice walking along the top timber of the bedroom which made it even more uncomfortable to sleep. We didn’t realise how big an inconvenience the openness of the penthouse would be. If you are ok to sleep in the wilderness then this penthouse is for you. If not, don’t do it.
