Fantastic hosts, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything is spotlessly clean. Great location right at the start of the Humpridge. Included for guests is a free espresso coffee, and let me tell you, this is probably one of the best coffees I've had in NZ! My only regret is not staying another night at the end of the walk!!

"Beautiful and cozy place to relax before or after a trek."

First impressions were, great location, very friendly relax staff, ample facilities and all very clean and tidy.

Only thing I could possibly pick at was the mattresses in the dorm. I did not sleep well on the bottom bunk 'softer option' haha. But I was told they are looking to upgrade soon. Overall impressed with the Rarakau Lodge.

"Great welcome"

The lodge is perfectly located at the start of the Hump Ridge Track but what really stands out is the warm welcome from the owner who even took us collecting mussels and gave us an extra room to be more confortable. Best to take your food for your dinner and breakfast.
