Wonderful hosts that’ll instantly make you feel welcome and at home. The lodge has all you need and more on your way in and out of the Humpridge. Special lux add-ons are the espresso machine and the hot tub! Such a pleasure to stay at Rarakau

Really lovely, friendly and warm-hearted hosts who seem to love what they do. You instantly feel welcome when you arrive. Great guest lounge with huge PS5, fireplace etc., and amazing barista coffee prepared by the hosts before you leave in the morning. Absolutely perfect location if you want to go on or return from the Humpridge track.

The mattresses that we had could use a replacement. Other than that, all great.

"Perfect start and finish to Humpridge Track"

Rarakau Lodge is the perfect place to stay before heading off on the Humpridge and after. We appreciated both the spa pool and the excellent coffee in the morning. Kellie was very helpful to get our washing done for the next hike. Thank you 😊

"Warm kiwi welcome in a lovely clean lodge with yummy fresh baked Chelsea buns and espresso coffee!"

Barista coffee with all different milks including oat milk plus the most incredible fresh home baked sweet buns in the morning.. and these were free for guests! There was a hot outdoor spa and rooms and shared bathroom facilities were really nice and very CLEAN! It was a really authentic kiwi honestly type vibe and the owners/ managers were so friendly and welcoming...Also it is like 200m from the start of the Humpridge track

THE place to stay before setting out on the Humpridge Track! Lovely lodge hosts who go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable. And the coffee offered every morning is spectacular! Highly recommended!!

The lodge is located in a very remote location, despite of getting groceries are so inconvenient, Blake showed great generosity and hospitality to all the guests, make us feel like staying in an old friend's house. Kitchen, bathroom, and bed linen are of 5-stars clean. If you're planning to go on the Hump Ridge Track, choose Rarakau Lodge for your pre-departure accommodation is definitely the best option.
