Lovely hotel. loveely staff. Room spacious and reasonably stocked.

The toilet in the en suite was a pretty tight fit. Otherwise, room was fine.

Based on what you’ve described, I’d suggest something balanced and fair: What did you like about the property? The hotel was comfortable and entirely satisfactory for my needs. I arrived late and left early while cycling through the area. The receptionist was very helpful and kindly allowed me to store my bicycle securely in a conference room overnight, which was much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent and far more substantial than I had expected or requested. The building itself has an attractive historic character and some interesting decorative features.

The hotel felt rather quiet and sparsely occupied during my stay, although this may simply have reflected the time of year. While the décor appears historic and suggests a long and interesting past, I would have enjoyed learning more about the building’s history. A few wall-mounted plaques or explanatory notes about the hotel and its furnishings would have added to the experience.
